CYPRESS, Texas — For the second year in a row, a transgender wrestler has won the Texas girls’ Class 6A 110-pound division.
Mack Beggs, an 18-year-old senior from Euless Trinity High School near Dallas, entered the tournament in Cypress outside of Houston with an undefeated record. He beat Chelsea Sanchez — whom he beat for the title in 2017- in the final match Saturday.

This line says it all:
If you're transitioning, you shouldn't be allowed to compete.

did you actually read the article? he/she wants to wrestle in the guys division but the state wont let him/her. its not his/her fault for winning in the division they are forcing him/her to wrestle in

To be fair, Mack Beggs wanted to compete in the boys tournament. Texas UIL forced Beggs to compete with the girls.

Im confused. Was it born a girl and wants to be a boy, or the other way around

I'm pretty sure she originally wrestled in the girls, opposing parents complained and said she needed to wrestle in the boys, the UIL said the rules state you must wrestle in the division of your birth gender.
So no, she didn't try to wrestle in the boys originally.
Edit: didn't even try per the UIL head

The University Interscholastic League, which oversees athletics in Texas public schools, enacted the birth certificate policy Aug. 1, 2016. And while Beggs' family has said he wanted to compete against boys, UIL deputy director Jamey Harrison, who refused to address Beggs directly, said the UIL had not received a request to change divisions from any athlete at this competition.

I did not know this part of it - didn't read the article but saw the usual headlines/outrage.

Beggs had asked to wrestle in the boys' division, but the rules for Texas public high schools require athletes to compete under the gender on their birth certificate.

His family has repeatedly said he wants to wrestle boys. The birth certificate rule was approved in 2016 by the University Interscholastic League, the governing body for Texas high school sports. It was done to help schools determine competition, said Jamie Harrison, the UIL's deputy director.

Yet according to the presiding body that can change her classification, she made no request to do so...
She can want to all day, but it's just lip service without any action.

Do you think UIL would have actually approved the change?

Love it.
That this happens in Texas is even better.

Lol. It's his fault for "transitioning" in the first place. And his parents too.

I think Beggs winning makes UIL look bad for putting the rule in place in the first place.
