This is very disappointing, 2 and a half years is not enough, especially when they had potentially 4 first round picks this summer.

For frickin Bryan Colangelo

Ish Smith took over for Canaan.

People keep saying he didn't have enough time

The 6ers have the worst record over a three year stretch in league history and there was zero room to get significantly better this summer

He probably would have come under less scrutiny and the 76ers would've been less likely to hire Colangelo if Hinkie wasn't such a gaping a-hole.

I don't really see that but people wanted to make Hinkie a villain

Well it sounds like no one liked working with him and he did shite without ever communicating with people. Not to mention, he was shady in his trades (not disclosing the Jrue Holiday injury) and that kind of shite doesn't make you friends around the league. He may be smart, but you can't be a deliberate and open a-hole when you're working with people.

Except for getting the best foreign player not currently in the NBA in saric, embiid who has elite potential, and a top 3 pick. Sure no chance they could get better In actuality they had more of a chance to get better than any other team in the league.

I wonder if they'll give him credit when they are a perennial playoff team in the near future.

People are seriously underestimating how far away Philadelphia is, even with all their assets.

Wasn't Mirotic held in that high regard before coming over to the Bulls? He's been mediocre.

Sure, if all of the tanking and acquisition of assets doesn't work out down the line, but I think it will eventually.

You know, I'm not sure but you can't say they had no room for improvement when they were taking on 3 players who are top 5 pick level talent in one offseason. Plus anyone else they may add.

You're being very optimistic about Embiid

Does he not have top 5 talent? Sure of course he does. Have other players come back from that injury and had successful careers? Sure there have been.

Give me the name of the last random Euro kid to come over after slumming it overseas and actually dominate

Embiid? Just stop

A top 3 pick? You already know Hinkie would just draft another center

He was definitely fighting an uphill battle in the PR department but you're right, he didn't do himself any favors. He wouldn't have any banging the table for him. Ownership was supposedly in full support but that obviously wasn't the case.

The good news is that the process left a stacked cupboard but it's terrifying to think what Colangelo might do with it. The overpay in a trade for Dennis Scroeder to max him feels inevitable.

Is big z not a gigantic human? Reckon big Z had the same issues as embiid and had a 10+ year career after that.

Yeah after the whole patient rebuild thing, you can really see the 76ers doing something outrageous this offseason. Someone is going to get paid.

Well, look, it's one thing to be Porzingod and another thing entirely to be some random Euroleague/Adriatic/whatever guy
