The Blue Jays know this is their time to strike.

Red Sox are awful, Orioles are good but not great, Yankees have faded off badly, and the Rays are another good but not great team.

Jays can absolutely take that division if this all goes down.

I agree. They should have been sneaky this year, but the fell apart due to injury.

Now you add a star SS, an ace, an innings eater... really nice team.

After following a team since the beginning of there existence is it too late to cut ties

If there were more of us, I would suggest a Marlins fan draft.

Marlins are going to go bankrupt. They couldn't draw crowds with Reyes, Hanley, etc. how will they do it without?

Marlins = New Expos
They build the talent and ship it away when it comes time to pay (although they paid last year and failed)

Pretty sure they won the Division on the last day of the regular season no?

This makes the Jays better than every team in that Division that were right there with the Yanks last year, who are in a downward spiral IMO.

@jonmorosi: #Marlins opened season with a payroll of roughly $100MM. After this trade, non-arb 2013 obligations will be ~ $16MM. Historic salary dump.

Any way for Selig to kick out Loria and his stepson? That shite, neon colored stadium is only a year old.

ETA: Oh hey Giancarlo's pissed

Giancarlo Stanton ?@Giancarlo818
Alright, I'm pissed off!!! Plain & Simple

they finished with the most wins in AL and 3rd most in all of baseball.... Just because second place won 94 doesn't make any less impressive.

Jays finished 22 games behind the Yankees, that's a team that had injury issues for a part of year. Platooned Ibanez/A. Jones for most of season, and had a down seasons from Tex/Granderson/Martin/Swisher

Yankees are in a downward spiral with age IMO, this makes the Jays better than them I think, very very close.

Yanks have a lot of issues.
