Oh so much is made of it. Saints fans who whine about spygate make me

If anything, the pats and saints are kindred organziations...we both have parcells guys, we both were royally fricked by the NFL, and fans of other teams fricking hate these two organizations because they both win.

Panthers lost that superbowl because their kicker couldn't keep the kickoff in bounds...eagles were never a match regardless of what that score said...and the rams receivers were punked at the LOS

simple as that.

I honestly feel like there are few coaches that can be mentioned in the same breath as Lombardi and Landry (and not necessarily in that order).

Tom Landry was the most innovative coach in the history of football. His defensive mind created the 4-3 defense and the flex defense to combat his former fellow-coordinator in Lombardi, but then he later created an offense to defeat it. I remember when Landry later introduced the shotgun formation and revolutionized the passing game.

He is the Dean of Coaches for a reason. If you looked at the coaches who succeeded after him, you would probably agree that Landry could be the best coach in the history of the NFL.

I don't think that Belichick is as good as his mentor, Parcells.

I thought Lombardi won his championships in a league with like 10 teams. That doesn't really impress me that much

FIFY...HOF coach for sure. Not in the same class as Lombardi, BB, and others.

How is Belicheck distinguishable from Jimmy Johnson, Bill Walsh, Chuck Noll, or Bill Parcells? Tom Landry was good for a long, but was behind Lombardi. Shula's in there somewhere I guess. Paul Brown if you go back further.
Vince Lombardi is of the same type, but even more successful than the above. I'd put Vince second.
George Halas was the man for the first 30 years of the NFL. He had 6 losing seasons in 40 years as coach, and that includes the time when he was past his prime. He won a championship 73-0. Halas number 1.
