I was just wondering around the internet trying to figure out the year (the "Brooklyn" Dodgers and "Chicago" Cardinals piqued my curiosity), when I stumbled on the Cotton Bowl score.

LSU won the 1958 National Championship on 1-01-59.
I was born on 1/23/59. My dad always has said it was the best month of his life.

How old did you think I was?

i was born a week before the Fridge rumbled home in the Super Bowl... 9 months before Bill Buckner didn't put his glove down... 5 months before Diego Maradona used the hand of God... in the middle of Michael Jordan's rookie season... 11 months before Miami and Penn State played in the Fiesta Bowl and changed history

An NFL team went undefeated.

I don't know, but you've definitely got a "grumpy old dude who fires up a bowl and settles in front of the computer to tell youngins' how the world works" kind of vibe.

NFL - Steelers over the Cowboys (Swann's catch)
Which catch?
I know everyone is gaga over the diving catch in the middle of the field where Swann tipped the ball to himself, but, to me, the catch he made earlier in the game when he leaped up (seemingly out of bounds), took the ball away from a Dallas defender and somehow got both of his feet inbounds was just as spectacular a catch.
Slo-mo starts at 3:39.
