How was Phillips instrumental in the Florida game?

I believe he had 4 TD's none less than 15 yards and had over 150 yd rushing. and 50 yds receiving possibly

Only reason Ahman Green led that team in rushing was Phillips was suspended.

Now if Dr Tom would have went with the "We Backs" with Phillips and Green like he did Brown and Jones, nobody would have never stopped that NU offense.

Not Ahman's fault, maybe Phillips shouldn't be a dumbass

That's a monster game but Frazier had 199 rushing yards and at least 2 long TDs and wasn't Frazier the game MVP? Phillips was a great talent but I have a hard time giving him credit for that national title run, team was loaded. If one guy put them over the top it was Frazier that's why he's ranked where he is.

And the facts are that Phillips was a dumbass and Ahman outgained him in rushing, 2nd all-time in Husker history

I was just talking about the Fiesta Bowl, of course Frazier through the year put them over the top, much like Berringer did the Orange Bowl year vs Miami.

The Florida St Orange Bowl, where NU got robbed of a game, Frazier put them over the top also as a Freshman.

That's subjective and a different argument,

Well the NU coaches made Phillips the starter before the season and after the suspension. So they felt he was better.

But anyways how did we get talking about Phillips? He does not belong on a top 50 list, except top 50 NU RB's or top 50 NU players

NU?
Their proper abbreviation is UNL
Only thing I was able to learn from Huskerboard before they censored my comments by banning me

I asked for the 50+ running backs better than Fournette and a Nebraska fan listed him and Marcus Dupree

They must have not been alive in the Big 8 days then as Nebraska was NU

You had OU, KU, NU, MU, CU, oSu, etc.

You have to understand Big 8 fans first and foremost to understand why that would be said

Especially the ones in Lincoln. They look back at the days of the Big 8 with nostalgia and think that it was the best football in the world.
I beg to differ even with my connections to CU but Nebraska has this way of thinking that their program
was intentionally destroyed by UT and universities inside the Big 8 like OU and CU who were jealous of Nebraska because they won so much

Lawrence Phillips might not even be top 3-4 RB in Nebraska history, much less last 50 years

I would not put Phillips above Fournette. I could see someone putting Dupree there only after watching the 30 for 30, but he did not play enough to warrant that.

To me Phillips is like Leland McElroy, amazing talent but idiot in the head and lazy. Fournette does not seem to be lazy or an idiot.

Depends on what you list Johnny Rogers as?

He was a Wingback, but he also ran the ball.

My order for NU backs in last 50 years

Rozier
Rogers
Brown
Phillips
Jones
Burkhead
Hipp

Ahman Green, to me, was just another one of the good NU backs not great. Maybe because he followed Phillips?

I hope you are not trying to say Green was better than Rozier or Rogers
