Not players from Texas. Players who played for one of the three Texas teams (Mavs, Spurs, Rockets). A ton of talent across the three squads historically but I would put it in this order:

1) Hakeem Olajuwon
2) Tim Duncan
3/4) Dirk Nowitzki
4/3) David Robinson
5) James Harden

Thoughts?

I love dream, but he never played this game we call basketball as well as harden has the last few years. Hardwns 3 yr peak is bested by only lebron and Jordan.

Duncan
Harden
Dream
Dirk
Admiral

No Moses Malone? think he oughta be ahead of Harden at this point, dude saved pro ball in Houston, won more MVPs with Rockets than Harden and led them to the Finals where they gave Bird and the Celtics all they could handle as a massive underdog, all recency bias I get it

Harden is 13 ALL time in mvp shares. And moving up in a couple months.

Moses - 16th
Admiral - 15th
Dream - 20th
Dirk - 28th

The only player ahead of harden from TX is Timmy - 9th.

Sir Charles also played for the Rockets and if we are talking about the careers of players who spent at least a year with one of those teams and not just what they did as a member of those teams then yeah Charles is easily above Harden.

First team all nba

Timmy - 10
Harden - 6 after this year, maybe will get to 10. 8 seems like an utter lock at this point.
Dream - 6
Dirk - 4
Admiral - 4
Moses - 4

Well, by that standard there are a ton of great players who have played at least a year with one of those teams.

Charles Barkley
Scottie Pippen
Jason Kidd
Steve Nash
George Gervin
Rick Barry
Clyde Drexler
Moses Malone

I’ve decided you are playing a bit. Even James Harden would not argue that he is better than The Dream

I have been trying to find someone to satisfy a search I am on, but have exhausted all options. I am trying to find one player who has a better 5 year cumulative # in the b-ball ref advanced stats than harden.

When you look at the last 5 years

PER, WS, WS/48, Bpm, VORP

all of the major advanced stats. I can’t find one player who beats harden in any one of them. Clean sweep. Please let me know if you can find someone who has him beat at any of those over the last 5 years. also you can toggle you range to 6 years, 4 years, 3 years... quite an unbelievable run.

1. What point is this attempting to make?
2. What difference does this make for anything?
3. Can you point me to the debate rules and format and indicate where your "MVP shares" thing is an element?

Moses Rockets 1976-82
2 MVPs
1 Finals appearance

James Harden Rockets 2012-present
1 MVP
0 Finals appearances
bounced from playoffs in 5 games twice
bounced from playoffs in 6 games 4x (once as higher seed, played against the Dubs without KD Game 6 AT HOME, played against the Spurs sans Kawhi Game 6 AT HOME and Harden throws the game)
made pseudo-history blowing a 3-2 lead to the Warriors despite having the best record with franchise-best 65 wins AND home court

You can raise all the stats and playoff stats you want about Harden, you know who also accomplished around the same stuff Harden did yet it also didn't amount to shite when it came to winning and championships? George Gervin

Congratulations, James Harden is the George Gervin of this generation only without the cool finger roll and enduring nickname to endear himself to true fans for generations

Malone replaces Harden on this list, I rest my case

Yeah this is obviously an invalid opinion, Dream led the Rockets to what 3 NBA Finals and won 2 of them and Harden has led them to ZERO not to mention Dream's always been a destructive defensive presence next to great offensive presence whereas Harden only decided to provide effort on defense roughly last season, I mean he put beatdowns on Parish, Ewing, and Shaq in the Finals yeah I rest my case on this stuff alone
