That would have been the greatest comeback in the history of sports.
It should still count...they did actually complete the comeback.
The question is would they have settled for the FG had they kicked the XP on the previous score. Seriously, I've watched that many times before, but today I actually listened to everything, and they were going for 2 and the announcers were all excited about it. WTF? Kicking the XP gets you down 3, and you still not only have to recover ANOTHER onsides kick, but get down the field and score (kick the FG).
Weird.

The coaching decisions in that game are atrocious (going for 2 when kicking gets you down by 3, and then going for 2 again when kicking puts you UP by 3).
Maybe they didn't have a reliable placekicker. It is HS football, after all.

True, but they had 17 points at that point. So I'd assume that was 2 XPs and a FG.

8. Dallas Mavericks – 2005 NBA Finals – Up 2-0 in the NBA Finals on the Miami Heat with a 13 point lead and 6 minutes to go in Game 3, sadly wasn’t enough for the Mavericks. The Heat would go on to win 4 straight games and the NBA Championship.

That's quite an accomplishment to have two of the worst chokes in sports history.
P.S.- The refs totally gave Miami the championship.

When I was a kid, we had a 4-0 halftime lead in the soccer state playoffs. We joked around all halftime. The coaches couldn't keep our attention. We were already talking about where we would celebrate and who we played next. We lost 4-5.
Wow. That's horrible. Losing in a dramatic fashion can take it's toll.
