And the Patriots played one of those NFCS Super Bowl teams and won. The NFC South has been a good division, but Atlanta was only an 11-5 team the year they lost in the Super Bowl to the Patriots. For comparisons sake, Dolphins won 10 games that year in the AFC East.

Atlanta shite the bed. Any team that has a 25pt lead should win. You chalk that up to Brady but the truth is, his defense and an inept Falcons team gave him the win. Atlanta scores 1 FG and the Pats lose. His defense bailed him out.

quote:

Carolina won the division one year with a sub-.500 record, right? NFC South had back-to-back teams in the Super Bowl, and both lost. Saints made it once to NFC title game and lost. In two of those years, the Patriots won the Super Bowl. Brady's first season in the NFC South, he damn near
None of that has to do with Brady.
quote:

Brady's first season in the NFC South, he damn near wins the division and bounced the division winner in the Saints out of the playoffs, so he basically did the NFC South dirty the same way he dumped on the AFC East for all those years.
No. He didn't almost win the division. He got trounced twice by the Saints. And the 3rd time the Saints said frick it, we don't want it. Here you go. Brady did dick all.

The rest meh. Brady is good but I've seen enough where he wasn't the reason they won. His team won a playoff games in spite of him playing like shite. The Saints never had that.

Brady isn't the greatest at his position. He's simply the Luckiest. And as the saying goes "it's better to be lucky than to be good.

Dumbest take in the history of the board.

Luck is how the Giants managed to keep him from winning two more super bowls.

Brady is the GOAT. Better than Montana. Better than Elway, better than any NFL QB.

People dont think Marino was the best because he had stats and no rings. People don't think Bradshaw is the best because he had rings but no stats.

Brady has both, and just took a floundering, piss poor organization to the NFC championship in his first year. Anyone denying Brady as the GOAT at this point has some severe penis envy.

I already outlined how he's lucky. It's not just vs the Giants. It's throughout his career. How many Super Bowls won by the kicker? He throws a pick 6 vs Atlanta. He could be 0-7 just as easy as 7-0 in SBs because they all hinge on 1 play. Dude has a horse shoe up his arse.

Brady is not better than those guys. Montana never threw a pick in a SB.

Brady taking a piss poor team to the NFCCG in his first year is laughable. Jameis Winston threw 30 TDs last year with almost the same team. They went 7 and 9. What would be there record had he only thrown 15? They go out and get Gronk and Antonio Brown. You clearly don't have a clue about this team.

Brady got his arse handed to him twice by the Saints. Where was the goat? Oh that's right, waiting for the 3rd time so the Saints could hand him a win on a silver platter because he should have been picked off twice in the game. The GOAT should be sitting at the house if we fielded Blaine Gabbert as the starting QB. You didn't watch the game, the season or any of his super bowls. You clearly look at rings and say "Dur he's the best"

And you know what? Tampa has a decent chance vs GB. It ain't got shite to do with Brady either.

In the years since Peyton retired. I really think Tom has solidified his claim as the qb GOAT. I just don't see any argument against him at this point in time.

Beating a 7-9 team with a third string qb.
And the Saints who had to turn it over 4 times for the Bucs to get the victory.

Brady is great, but the guy has had some incredible amount of luck in his career.

Brady gets a Super Bowl win when Seattle passes from the one yard line instead of handing the ball to Lynch. Brady gets Adam Vinetari to make every kick ever in the postseason. Peyton Manning has his defense give up a 75 yard td with 30 seconds left in the game. Manning has a kicker shank a game tying field goal indoors.

True, but people always forget Seattle's very lucky play to get down there in the first place.

That was an incredible game. Patriots played their A-game. Seattle probably played their B-game.

you must be stupid, He has proven that he doesn't need Belichick to be a great QB. Look where the Pats are at and look where the Bucs are at.

Asinine. There was one common denominator in all of the Patriots success.

Another blind guy. Matt Cassell went 11-5. Jimmy G and 10 other QBs went 4-1 or 3-1 in his absence?

Todd Haley ( KC) also went 10-5 with Cassel & made the playoffs . Stop pretending its the greatest achievement in modern sports history.

8 seasons / 1 playoff appearance w/o Brady . Sub .500 record w/o Brady. 5-13 (.277) in NE without Brady. 43-57 in 7 seasons w/o Brady. No small sample sizes here.

Yea I have problems. I'm not the one believing a guy is the greatest ever when this6is what he's accomplished :

quote:

2001 Divisional vs Raiders:

32/52, 312 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT, 70 rating

Puts up only 16 points, gets bailed out by the Tuck Rule & Patriots win the game 16-13

quote:
2006 Divisional vs Chargers:

27/51, 280 yards, 2 TD, 3 INT, 57.6 rating

Awful performance but THE PATS STILL WIN. Defense forces 4 turnovers, & even after Brady throws a (likely) game-losing INT, THE CHARGERS FUMBLE THE BALL BACK TO THE PATS ON THE SAME PLAY.

quote:
2004 AFCCG vs Steelers:

14/21, 207 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT, 130.5 rating

Brady puts up fine numbers, but he barely cracks 200 yards and his team STILL puts up 41 POINTS (Patriots win 41-27)

Again his defense is the difference, as it forces 4 turnovers (one being a pick-six).

quote:
2003 Divisional vs Titans:

21/41 (51%), 201 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT, 73.3 rating

Has a below-average game & puts up only 17 points, but defense bails him out and Patriots win 17-14

quote:
2003 Super Bowl vs Panthers (SB 38):

32/48, 354 yards, 3 TD, 1 INT, 100.5 rating

Brady played really well, but with the game tied with 1:08 left, THE PANTHERS KICK THE BALL OUT OF BOUNDS & GIVE THE PATS THE BALL AT THE 40

This leads to the game-winning FG.

quote:
2003 AFCCG vs Colts:

22/37 (59%), 237 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, 76.1 rating

Once again, he has a below-average game and doesn't do anything special, but his defense forces 5 TURNOVERS and also gets a safety as the Patriots win 24-14. Bailed out again.

quote:
2001 Super Bowl vs Rams (SB 36):

16/27, 145 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT, 86.2 rating

Brady's offense scores only 13 POINTS, but his defense forces 3 turnovers (one being a pick-six) and the Patriots win the Super Bowl.

Somehow, Brady won Super Bowl MVP with this performance.

quote:
Tom Brady's 2001 Super Bowl run:

• 3 games
• 191 yards per game
• 1 TD
• 1 INT
• 77.2 rating
• Leads Patriots offense to a TOTAL of 29 points (9.7 points per game)
• Doesn't even play in the second half of the AFCCG, backup wins game

quote:
At this point in Brady's postseason career (9 games, 3 Super Bowls):

Brady: 11 TD, only 217 yards per game

Patriots defense: 25 forced turnovers, only 17 points allowed per game

He got carried to his first 3 super bowls.

quote:
2007 AFCCG vs Chargers:

22/33, 209 yards, 2 TD, 3 INT, 66.4 rating

Another awful performance but guess what... THE PATRIOTS WIN AGAIN. Defense allows only 12 points and carries Brady back to another Super Bowl.

quote:
2011 AFCCG vs Ravens:

Brady:
22/36, 239 yards, 0 TD, 2 INT, 57.5 rating

Flacco:
22/36, 306 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT, 95.4 rating

Flacco easily outplays Brady, but GUESS WHO GETS THE WIN. Lee Evans drops a game-winning TD and then Cundiff misses the game-tying FG. Brady gets lucky.

quote:
2013 Divisional vs Colts:

13/25, 198 yards, 0 TD, 0 INT, 78.4 rating

Patriots win 43-22

No, thats not a typo... TOM BRADY ONLY COMPLETED 13 PASSES, THREW FOR LESS THAN 200 YARDS, DIDNT THROW A SINGLE TD, AND HIS TEAM STILL PUT UP 43 POINTS. UNREAL.

This what we consider the GOAT? Really? Hmm I guess we are lowering our standards.

Most of those games take place pre Ty Law rule and in a few of those games Brady played exceptionally well
