My father always had a soft spot for the Reds, and I guess he passed that down to me. He was a big Joe Morgan fan when the .45’s/Astros brought MLB to Houston, and Johnny Bench was his second favorite player of that era.

That combo and the rest of the Big Red Machine was too much for him to resist when Morgan went to Cincinnati.

His fandom combined with the fact the Reds are an easy historical team for me to root for without feeling like you are jumping on a bandwagon always made me pay attention to them and passively root for them.

It's sad that a team that's been rebuilding for so long has so few young guys to even get excited about.

McClain in the minors is doing pretty well. That’s all I got.

Watched this dude near every day for the last 2 years. It won't get much better.
On the bright side... Every time I rip him he gets a couple hits...
Told you.

I'm gonna call you out on that cat dude - I seriously doubt Ace could grow facial hair.

When did Votto start doing the hard drugs?
WTF is with him? When did he start acting so squirrelly?

Tommy Pham has challenged Luke Voit to a fight for his collision with Stephenson.

It was a dirty play he knew he was going to be out and still ran Stephenson over.

And just last season the team was exciting to watch and rally around. JFC.

Yep. The problem is they 1.) Botched the initial rebuild with poorly timed trades and not getting enough for their major pieces, and 2.) went into this off-season pretty much advertising that they weren't going to spend any money, so they traded away talented, cost-controlled guys like Gray and Winker with very little return.

The guy who looks like the genius in all of this is Dick Williams. He saw the writing on the wall after 2020 and got TF out. He wasn't putting his name on this team.

If you don't want to get smacked, don't put yourself in the running lane. It was the throw by the relay man that brought the catcher into the lane.

Also, how the hell was Voit supposed to know that the catcher caught the ball and made the tag without dropping it? Catchers drop the ball all the time. Should Voit just have given himself up?

Pham just struck out to officially end his hot streak.
Not to worry though, he should pick up one or two knocks before the end of the month.
