Wow, wasn't expecting that. I was expecting Kareem or Wilt. Interesting choice...dude was a beast for sure.
My top 5 Center list:
1. Russell
2. Kareem
3. Wilt
4. Shaq
5. Hakeem

No the joke is the fact that Russell played as a 5. Duncan is the GOAT 4
Oh, OK. I didn't know what you meant by 4. I thought you were counting rings. I always thought Karl Malone was the best pure 4 since Duncan plays 4 and 5 but it's hard to say Duncan isn't the GOAT 4.

Russell and Wilt benefited from the era they played in, IMO. I think you could replace Russell with Rodman on those teams and they would be just as successful.

Hakeem was probably the most skilled 5 and had an exceptionally long prime, but was only incredibly dominant for a few seasons.
I'd probably go Kareem as the best 5 of all time. He had a ridiculous prime with some of the greatest seasons of all time (granted in a very diluted NBA because of expansion and ABA). Plus he had arguably the longest stretches of dominance ever winning the Finals MVP 14 years apart and MVP 10 years apart.
Bill Russell was great, but I just don't watch him play in those 60s games and see best ever. The stats don't back up his candidacy either. But we overrate team accomplishments when judging individual candidacies all the time. So it's par for the course, I suppose.

Kobe literally only does 1 thing better than LBJ and that's shoot mid range jumpers. LBJ is a more efficient scorer, a better passer, better rebounder, better teammate. He's also a better and more versatile defender. Your just to blind to see that.

Do you have any idea what kind of racism Bill Russell faced in Boston in the 50's and 60's? Boston is the most racist city in america. He was blackballed by the sportswiters. Dennis fricking Rodman? He cries at the drop of a hat. That media whore wouldn't have lasted a month in Boston in the 60's. Russell was the greatest shot blocker in NBA history and averaged 15.1 PPG, 22.5 RPG and 4.3 APG.
Rodman? 7.3 PPG, 13.1 RPG and 1.8 APG....and an anemic .58 Blocks per game. Dwayne Wade is a SG and averages more than a full block per game.
Mentioning Rodman in the same breath with Bill Russell is absurd.

You act like Rodman didn't average that during his prime against legit NBA talent, he could've easily done it in Russell's era. Russell is vastly overrated.

Are you kidding? Did you ever see big men like Walt Bellamy? 6'11" and 225 pounds!?!?!
Dwight Howard would cry if he had to go up against THAT monster.
Shoot, and look at the PF's! KEVIN MCHALE, ANYONE! WHAT A MONSTER! LOOK AT HOW RIPPED HE WAS!
ETA: McHale also killed people at Center. New age kids with their Gatorade and muscles need to sit the frick down.

Lebron is deffinitly better at driving to the basket
And his basketball instinct is better than Kobes as well

It's not a joke. Kobe is simply more competitive than LeBron.

Buncha tards in this thread who don't understand the difference between b-ball in the 60's and b-ball now.

Look, I'm not saying that Rodman deserves to be compared to Russell, but Russell and Wilt played in a different era of basketball. I'm not talking about the quality of play, although that is certainly a factor.
I'm talking about the style of play, where centers were far more of a focus point for teams, as opposed to guard/forward centric era we have been in for quite some time.
The stats aren't going to be comparable for players who played during separate eras. It's like trying to compare Johnny U's passing numbers to current players. The game isn't played in the same way, you can't use stats as a comparison.
