Considering he feels the need to state it that way, yes it obviously bothered him the fans and media came at Hime for a bad year.

He has a Triple Crown, has 2 MVPs, won 4 batting titles, and is an 11 time All-Star. This isn't even close to doubtful.

He's also 11th all-time among 1B in WAR and his black ink, gray ink, HOF monitor and HOF standard scores are well above the average HOFer. Cabrera would get in with over 90% of the votes if he retired today.

Baseball players are becoming like football RB’s when it comes to their prime. It wasn’t but 4 years ago this guy was the best player on the planet and before him it was Pujols. Remember when Andrew McCutheon was the best player in baseball?

Well, Cabrera was underpaid for years. That contract was Ilitch's way of thanking Cabrera for his great service by making him a Tiger for life.

Didn’t he come into this season “ in the best shape of his life?” The season is a month and a half old and he’s been hurt like 3 times already.

Good point. Add Matt Kemp to the list.
