Why? Because the dumbass doesn't understand why ties are allowed in the group stage?

Just because you are too dumb as well doesn't mean an entire sport is going to change their format.

You went from "soccer needs to grow" to "it's only popular because it's cheap." You are getting worked in this thread

In football?

Tackle and hit the guy hard as shite is one of its main goals

But not that high, or low, if it’s the Qb

Oh yeh, don’t even touch the guy either if he is trying to run a route to catch the ball

Unless he is within 5 yards of the Los, then you can hit him

It’s gotta seen stupid as frick to people that don’t grow up with the game

Wut? A consistent criticism of soccer in america is ties and flopping. If they want to grow more here addressing that would help.

Then people follow with the lazy “its the most popular sport in the world, they are doing fine” argument. The main reason it is popular is because of accessibility. It is cheap to play in 3rd world shitholes . Baseball, football and golf are expensive.

And then people revert to the classic “you are too dumb to get it argument” which is the laziest argument of all and what actual dumb people do.

The people who say this aren't watching anyway and were never going to watch.

European colonialism didn't hurt its global outreach either

Lol. Just say you don't understand. Multiple people here have explained why ties are allowed in the group stage. You just choose to be ignorant and stupid.

You need immediate satisfaction and can't comprehend the strategies employed in soccer.

Maybe dumb is the wrong word, ignorant is probably more appropriate, but then again multiple people have explained it and you still don't get it. So maybe stupid is the right word.

better and much simpler sport

"Much simpler" does not equal "better." If that were the case, we should all just watch track. The 100 meters is as simple as it gets.

What makes football great (well, one of the things) is the large variation in potential outcomes due to scoring permutations. Should I go for two here or not? Does it make sense to kick a field goal, or should I go for it? Due to different styles of play, you can also see a great game between superb teams that is 48-45 or 10-6. You're never going to see a 9-7 World Cup final. For a lot of us, a long series of 1-0 or 2-1 results gets a little tedious.

Are you stupid?

Look at the countries outside the US where baseball is popular.

Cosmo has tripped all over himself. Baseball and basketball are unbelievably cheap to play. There is a reason the MLB is dominated by dirt poor countries

I was talking about the in-game rules although how the group stage works isn’t exactly rocket science either

But there are massive stylistic differences between teams, especially internationally. That the sport has a entirely different set of strategic characteristics than other sports derived from the same code doesn't mean it lacks strategy or tactics.

It’s interesting that three of the biggest contrarians on the board are fiercely defending soccer. Easy target I guess.

I'm not the one crying because I don't like rules of a sport that make perfect sense, then calling anyone critical of my stupidity lazy
