Eh this is exactly what I’m talking about. Depends on the situation. If a kid is hitting tanks let him hit tanks!
On the other hand, I’ve walked the last batter in the order who struck out twice because it was a tie game in the last inning with runners on 2nd and 3rd. Our only chance was to set up a force so we walked him. That’s the right baseball play regardless of age. We ended up getting 2 force outs and tied and my kids learned a ton from it. There are 2 teams out there.
