Mariota (and Derrick Henry) overcame an 18 point deficit on the road in a playoff game, Mckenzie Milton leads UCF to a victory over Auburn in the Peach Bowl to finish the season undefeated, and Tua comes in during the middle of the National Championship game to overcome a 13 point deficit.

That's the best post you've had all year.

That’s awesome! A Hawaiian Quarterback just won a national championship, another one is in the divisional round of the AFC playoffs, and one just lead his team to a comeback win over Georgia.

Yet Louisiana can't develop or produce one big time quarterback (except for Parkway) in the last kabillion years.

Tua went to the same high school that Marcus went to, and he was like Mariota's disciple. He wanted to go to Oregon but our coach at the time, Helfrich, was against offering underclassmen. The rest is history.

Might have ended up at SC if Sark doesn't get canned.

About 15 years ago Life Magazine ranked the best states for football fans. Your top 10 was mostly what you would expect, Texas, Louisiana, Ohio, Georgia, etc. Alabama was #1. Hawaii was #2.

Having Mariota leading my NFL team and now Tua leading my college team makes me a pretty big fan of the state right now

Don't forget Jordan Ta'amu from Ole Miss, another Hawaiian freshman QB.

He started the last few games for them after Patterson got hurt, and went fricking nuts. Enough so that Patterson is transferring to Michigan.
