Not sure if they'll throw the total yards in though to make Harvin look better.

Oh so only receiving yards count when up for ROTY consideration. Noted

Not what I meant. I meant they can skew the stats to make him seem a lot better than he is. For instance they could do this:

"Hakiem Nicks ends the year with 57 catches for 936 yards and 10 touchdowns. Will it be Nicks or Percy Harvin who had 52 catches and 1900 total yards?"

Kinda easy for ESPN to pimp Harvin if they feel like it.

seem a lot better than he is? uh.. its not like hes getting free yards. pretty sure espn doesn't pick the winner either

nicks is a mediocre receiver on a mediocre team

edit: i wonder if theyll throw in that TD pass he caught that was tipped by Rodgers-Cromartie in the ARI game to make him seem better than he is

You're a homer.

Yes, return yards are free yards. You can suck arse and rack up 1,000 return yards in a year. When you add those to receiving yards it is very easy to skew an arguement in Harvin's favor. He'll get 1,500 yards this year in returns alone. I guess Josh Cribbs is better than Reggie Wayne since he'll end the year with 1,000 more yards than him...

If you think Harvin is a better true receiver than Nicks there is no point in continuing this discussion. You'll never get it. You're blinded by homerism. I have no dog in this hunt as I don't like either of their teams and don't have either in fantasy.

ESPN controls sports. They can spotlight whoever they want and sway voters.

they don't give a frick about return yards, they care about return td's and percy already has 2

and josh cribbs is an awful receiver/great returner so he's nowhere near reggie wayne

percy is a better receiver than nicks and the returns are just an added bonus

percy is a game-changer, and is the best 3rd down receiver on the team

nicks is a garbage receiver who gets garbage yardage because his team is getting their arse kicked every week

+1

How many meaningful catches has Nicks had this season? Smith and Manningham make all the meaningful catches for that team. The only catches I've seen Nicks make this year come in garbage time when the Giants were either up big or losing big.

Not saying he's not a good receiver, but he just doesn't impact whether his team wins or loses like Percy already does in just his rookie season.

If 8 td and 10 int with a 64 passer rating is rookie of the year material then sign me up.
