This rule sucks. Marquise Lee out for the year for the jags. Defense going for the knees now.

Just what we need is officials making more judgement calls.

People will be so pissed when this starts changing the outcomes of games with these judgement calls.

Marquise Lee out for the season because NFL forcing Safeties in the open field to go low. Still got called for the penalty

Link not working but he went straight at Lee's knees. I can see alot of career ending knee injuries during this yesr.

That's probably what the NFL wants. They're not going to get sued for knee injuries.

Until people stop watching, they can get as pissed as they want.

People complain about things, get super pissed, but continue to watch, so the NFL doesn't give a shite.

I don't get what they want. Defenders get penalized anytime they go close to the head, so how they go super low, and randomly that's a penalty too. If the Pats weren't as great as they are, it would be it for me.

The rule has nothing to do with the receivers head though, it is about the defender's head.
First of all, I HATE this rule.
BUT, This is actually a perfect example of why they don't want players leading with their helmet. The head is way too far down, helmet clearly leading. If the safety keeps his head up and makes a big body hit or makes a good solid tackle, there is no penalty.
Some of you guys just want to hate the NFL so badly. It's almost pathetic, just enjoy the game for what it is.

False.

If the helmet of the defender hits the head of the offensive player, it is flagged.

The head always leads.

That is a characteristic of human anatomy and physics.

People don’t run with their head trailing behind them.

This! Knee injuries end seasons and careers. Concussions are a week, maybe two. Hell even that is out of too much caution.

And don't even try to bring up stuff that happens decades later that may or may not even be related.
