*the 2020 national champions.

Shortened year. No non-conference games. No opposing crowds. Rosters decimated. Key players out from game to game. Games cancelled. etc. This may annoy you and make you feel it's all so unfair, but nobody other than the team that wins will see it as a "real" champion. It will always be an asterisk champion. And Clemson fans can be as sad as they want about it.

You know you wouldn’t put an asterisk beside LSU’s name if they were actually good and won the national title this season.

Yup.

The Rant was full of crybabies after just a few weeks, hoping the season would be cancelled.

What a nightmare it would be to be in the middle of a great year this year of all years. Think Cincinnati. Nobody cares or even knows.

of course not, because they’ll all be teams who didn’t win it all. LSU fans are leading the way on this mentality. Of course, LSU fans aren’t the keepers of the record books, so it doesn’t really matter if they say the season should have an asterisk beside it.

I feel for Clemson fans too, man. But it is what it is. Their Dream season just happens to coincide with it being an asterisk season. And unfair or not, that will be the perception of cfb fans.

And yes, LSU having a nightmare year straight out of a comedy sketch is easier to bear in an asterisk year. It’s just not as painful as it would be in a non- asterisk season. It all feels like 2020 Clown World. Not quite legit.
