My interest level in sports is pretty much zero right now. Everything just feels like exhibition games.

That’s how I feel. I haven’t bet on a single game this year. Thank God, because 5Dimes went kaput and it’s a huge headache to get your money out, if at all possible. I pulled my money out in April when Covid hit and put it in a Bitcoin wallet where it’s doubled. So, my winnings won again.

I don’t even know how to pull that money out of Coinbase though. When I need it bad enough, I’ll figure it out.

Large * next to CFB2020. NFL has seen minor effects. Very few key players missing due to Covid and the lack of fan noise is only major impact.

The NFL feels like the NFL.

College Football does not feel normal. This is a weird, XFL version of college football.

I’m still enjoying this season, even if it is different. I think having a team still in contention obviously helps keep it exciting.

I’m sure this site will be full of “iTs aN aStErIsK sEaSoN!!!!1!!” people after a national champion is crowned (particularly if it is Alabama).

I think pro has been a better product. At least you have some new variety.

Even without covid...Bama/Oklahoma/OSU/Clemson is old as shite

The NFL has been high quality tv this year. So many great games. I really think the NFL is having one of their better years while CFB happens to be shut a shitshow.

I mean, it is an asterisk season. It’s still an accomplishment to win a lot, but it’s filled with partial rosters, opt outs, postponed and canceled games, etc. Not to mention the insanely important home field advantage atmosphere in college being removed.

It’s like war time sports when half the players and fans were away at war or something. It just isn’t the real thing.

I still wish LSU didn’t suck, but it does make me feel a bit better about it. I genuinely think the season gets washed out.

I don’t understand why the coaches have to wear masks. They are with the same players every single day. It’s stupid as frick

I think there's a lot of skewing results in this thread of LSU fans compared to last year.
Last year was as good as it gets for one fanbase, and they're coming down off that high with comments all through this thread about college football.
True, it is MUCH different, just look at the number of games played.
There are tons of fans of smaller schools that their team's aren't even playing. That takes away a lot.
Then, take away all the tailgating, etc. it further deteriorates.
But, the play for the P5 teams at least has been mostly there and has been somewhat normal.

I don’t think they’re wrong. This is an asterisk season, but there’s nothing the teams can do about it. All sports have an asterisk this season but they’re still crowning champions, and I would gladly take Alabama winning another one despite what’s going on. Hopefully the championship games and playoffs will have all teams at full strength though. That will help it feel somewhat legit

It is tho. And everyone knows it. ESPN & other media just play along cause they need the ratings & $$. The day after a champion is crowned, the media will start questioning the legitimacy.

The team that wins it all will still be the national champion. It can be argued where they rank amongst the national champions in history, but they will be the national champions nonetheless.

I mean, let’s just say Alabama does win it all for the sake of the argument. They’ll have actually played more SEC teams than they did during a normal season. So there’s no way they could be really looked down on. Even Clemson or Notre Dame will have played fewer cupcakes than they would have in a normal season.

Lol no, no it hasn’t

The consensus #1 nfl pick missed several games. Teams have had entire units out for huge matchups. Super stars have opted out. Pac 12 has barely played, other conferences are littered with postponements and cancellations. This season is just a bunch of exhibitions.

It will always have a huge asterisk.

The SEC, and every other conference, is hot garbage. There is no intimidating road games, big time players aren’t playing, spring and summer camps were abbreviated and bizarre leading to a terrible product on the field for 90% of teams relative to what they’re used to.

The SEC in 2020 is not what it normally is. Have fun in Baton Rouge with 12,000 fans and our best players not playing, that’s definitely how it normally is

Maybe for Clemson but this ACC schedule IS the cupcake schedule for ND. ND normally has a much tougher schedule. They never play FCS teams. The weakest game ND plays is against Navy.

This is an exhibition season for college. The Great Asterisk season. I'm not drawing any conclusions.

I didn’t say this season was normal, but whoever wins the national championship will be the national champions. SEC teams are still full of talent, even with COVID going on. You know you wouldn’t put an asterisk beside LSU’s name if they were actually good and won the national title this season. You’d applaud them for running through their schedule, overcoming whatever obstacles they faced, and winning in the playoff and championship game.
