No it doesn't they put a rule in place last year specifically so a situation like this doesn't cause a player to DQ. It's called the HD rule and your buddies don't use it bc their games aren't on TV...

Sarcasm I hope.

Both players broke the rules.

Agreed. The asian shouldn't have been penalized yesterday

They really boxed themselves in on that one. Once they penalized him, they couldn't look the other way for Tiger.

Fortunately for the club and Tiger, that rule amendment is a ginormous loophole and they were able to keep him in the tourney.

Plus, they all but assured he would win it now. Dude likely will destroy the field.

This penalty gives AUgusta National a bigger black eye. If the pga doesnt want TW to win, just ban him.

Unless Tiger wins. If he does then it is remembered always.

Not saying that there is an asterisk next to thewin, just that people will associate the win with "yeah that was the one where he almost got disqualified"

Well good for the masters to completely split their audience on this issue. It must be a good ruling if you have people on both sides of the issue completely blasting it

And the best part is that the answer is likely somewhere in the middle, meaning they probably got it right.

Yeah, I'm sure this will cause the Masters to stop being the hardest ticket IN ALL OF SPORTS.

Its one thing to make an unknowingly wrong drop but
Tiger knew exactly what he was doing to get an advantage and basically admitted that on TV.

The amended rule is a good rule for those that had no intent to break a rule or seek an advantage

Frankly I think they misapplied the new rule for whatever reason and would have a ton of respect for Tiger if he DQ'ed himself... We shall see.

YEAH!!!!!!!! Except the part where Tiger said he went 2 yards back so that he wouldn't hit the flag on his 2nd attempt. He admitted to a competitive advantage.

Na they will. It may be laughed at down road like tuck rule or jordan shoving Russell down...but if tiger wins you don't think it ever gets brought up?
Not sure how any casual viewer doesn't pull for tiger now just to see the shite show

Saturday is usually when he goes Superman. With this motivation, he might shoot 60.

It was hard to get to south Africa. Not as difficult as avoiding being robbed and raped though.
