Today we got a commitment from a safety from West Jefferson High, Kenneth Proctor. He had offers from Memphis and Southern Mississippi.

The only sports which ULLLL is sometimes better than La Tech are baseball and maybe softball.

definitely baseball and softball for sure. we've been to the NCAA tournament a lot more recently in basketball as well. our records for football are pretty similar but they have more bowl games.

looks like they picked up a few other kids in the last few days including an early enrollee at middle linebacker that also had an offer from Southern Miss.

I have a feeling this recruiting class is going to have quite a few Mississippi guys, but they'll start hitting Louisiana harder next class.

Is Jelani Smith going to make any noise on the ULL defense this season??

I know he went to Arkansas (was somewhat of a surprise that they offered), but he ended up playing a little his freshman year before getting hurt. Then he transferred over when Petrino came in. He should jump right into the starting LB corps?

He should make an impact. We've signed two inside linebackers and we're gonna have Lewis-Buchanon on the outside. Should be good

How is their recruiting going right now

well they did get those fancy new double wides for recruiting purposes. Surely things are going pretty well since those additions.

That would be a great pick up for them. He's the kind of guy they need to keep targeting.

Lamar is a school the WAC is interested in.

FIFY, although Tech's football history is a lot better than UL-L's history.

Tech has some level of success at every level they've played--national championship in Div II, championship appearance in 1-AA, and a couple of bowl games in Div 1, including a WAC championship. Plus, more success defeating Div 1 teams NOT in the SunBelt.

I've followed UL-L football since I was a kid, and they just don't have much historical success as a team. They definitely have put some very talented individuals in the NFL, but as a team, not much to speak of.

Maybe this new coach will make them a winner before heading off to coach a bigger program if he's successful.

because they think they're better.

They ARE better.
Past five seasons:

Louisiana Tech 25-37 (.409)
Louisiana-Lafayette 24-36 (.400)
Louisiana-Monroe 25-35 (.417)

Yep. Tech is DEFINITELY better.

WAC > Sunbelt (at least for the past 5 years!) So, yeah, Tech has been better team.

Tech's SOS is always about 8 slots better than ULM's.

Yep, way better! Way to go, Tech! I can see why you think you're on a different tier than ULM!!!

And Tech fans are actually snobby about this!

I think that if you're going to look down on ULM, you should do at least one of the following:
a) play in an AQ conference
b) win more games

Tech can't do this, but they still view themselves as so much better than ULM that a home/away football series would not be in their best interests.

Pure delusion.

You can thank Robert Lee for not having basketball on this list.

Basketball is on that list, our team has been better than theirs on average for the past 10 years. I think the last time they've been to the NCAA tourny is 1991. We went in 2000, 2004, and 2005 and the NIT in 2002 and 2003.
