Maybe you're using roids as an all encompassing term but I don't think any of them are taking steroids like bodybuilders. I think they're blood doping like cyclists.

Did I use the word roids?

ETA: yes, it appears I did. PEDs would have been a better choice of word.

Correct. Tennis is the most inequitable sport on the planet. Its a completely unlevel playing field, and doping is no different

It's "inequitable" only after the players are at the top. So, how did they get to the top?

Regarding the doping, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to assume that the top players who already have advantages in travel, coaching, training, etc, etc… also have access to (and can afford) the best doctors and doping methods

So then how did they become top players?

I really do hope that my point here is clear, and that the silliness of a "top players are top players only because they are juicing" argument is jumping off the page.

I heard a few days ago that Alex is one of the worst players on tour in terms of winning second serve points. I know the DFs are a big part of that, but it's crazy you can be six in the world with that stat.

I'm not saying doping makes them more talented. I'm saying it is giving them an unnatural level of age defying endurance. I don't think they have always been doping. They definitely do have much more access to recovery and performance enhancing methods than younger and less wealthy players. Who knows what kind of cutting edge / experimental shite they have access to and are on. Hypothetically of course.

I could be wrong but I don't think anyone is making that argument. My stance is... everyone is doping and, as with everything else, the top players are doing it better.

Not seeing the connection here. It's possible to believe that the entire tour is doping while acknowledging that the better players earned their place at the top.

Couldn't that be said for top college football teams? Always the same old top 10 in the rankings! Seems like it is the same thing you are talking about in any sports that have the same repeating top teams each year!

He’s sandwiched between elite talents like Damir Dzumhur and Paolo Lorenzi for his career.

Not all of us claim to be challenger level players but in fact only played in the qualies of one challenger -- which was in Baton Rouge...so I assume a wildcard was involved -- and lost 2 and 0 in the first round....of qualies.

But, yeah, you could take Musetti.

Perhaps I misinterpreted the nature of the argument. Which, to be fair, you weren't really advancing, but appeared to be supporting.

Certainly reads that way:

Tsitsipas fights off double set point. Probably going to a breaker here.
