Is it possible that Sandgren already had a contract with them and that is why he is not playing as much ATP tennis right now?

My completely uneducated guess is exactly that. Same for Sock and many others, which kinda blows my mind.

The schedule for team tennis says it goes from July 15th to Aug 2nd. There are tourneys in Newport, Atlanta, San Jose, Los Cabos, and Washington that some of these players could be playing instead. Why would you run this in the middle of the American hard court season? Wouldn’t it make way more sense to do it during clay season?

Maybe there’s something I’m missing completely. But, I wouldn’t be shocked if no consideration was given to the players, and the main focus was on fans.

Summertime with kids out is why they do it

And you can back out the contract, you just owe money

Non-GS tennis is great. Thiem just gave a set up to Klizan 6-1.

Just noticed that Tiafoe has quietly moved himself up to #41 in the world with >$600k in winnings this year so far.

Solid technique on the racket smashes.

Nice catch on Stefanos. I parlayed him with Murray.

I saw that about Serena. Nuts.

DC was rained out all day until about an hour ago. They're going to have to play really late tonight. But they still might not finish as it might rain again in an hour. Other than a three week block where it didn't rain at all, it has rained literally every day in this area. Supposed to be good weather this weekend. I can see the need for a possible double-match day.

Nice win for Noah Rubin over Isner.

Teetsy Fly at -270 was so fricking free.

Demon Alex with a nice win over Stevie. . He's up to 72 in the world. I actually figured he'd be higher than that.

Thomas Berdych is now 68 in the world. He done.

Juan Martin Del Potro is your new world number 3. Biggie ups.

Murray is still playing at 2:45 am. I was able to hedge and lock in a profit.

Yeah that price on Tsitsipas was a gift. He already had a match under his belt, and the fact that it’s a 500 instead of a 250 is a factor too. Also, Duckworth was 3-21 vs. players in the top 50, and beat two weak guys before today.

Murray is so annoying to bet either on or against. You just know he will win 95% of the time, but he takes the craziest paths to get there.

ETA: This dude was literally crying his eyes out into his towel for a good 5 minutes after the win. I only saw a few games, so I’m not sure if it’s joy, relief, pain, or what. He might be a good fade tomorrow vs. Demon.

I feel a Rublev hard court run coming on too. That guy is good at tennis.

It definitely was. I should have gone bigger. And, no, that's definitely not what she said, perverts.

But Kudla has been balling out. That's a no play for me.

I tend to agree.

I was talking more long-term with Rublev. I haven’t really watched much of this tourney. Kudla beating Khachanov and Pouille back to back is damn impressive though.

Murray is only -160, so whatever he was crying about tonight seems to be already priced in. I’m passing on all 4 QFs, but they should make for good viewing.

What do you look for in tennis betting? How do you normally do?

I look for matches where I'm pretty sure one player is going to beat the other.

I win more than I lose, but it's peanuts, and if it was more than peanuts I'm not sure I would win more than I lose.

ETA: I know the first sentence sounds kinda dickish, but that really is about the extent of what I do. To that end, I could consider any number of factors: recent form, playing conditions, player fatigue, whether the player is French, etc. etc.

I'm getting hyped to watch some of these tasty D.C. matches and then the Masters. Rublev beat in-form Grigor in straight sets at the U.S. Open last year, so he has to be a tough customer.
