thing that's crossed my mind though is has he played his last match at RG? That would be unceremonious if not disrespectful to RG.

I'm sure he would like to go there in his final year, but I have a feeling he's not going to have a planned exit. To me, more likely career ends because of physical problem.

To have Fed and Nadal in prime form in the same era has been truly amazing. I'm nostalgic for the game in the 70's, but if you ask me, the last 15 years has been the golden age.

I wish they could simulate some of the greats of the 80s playing with today's rackets.

Hard to say whose game from the 70s and 80s would most benefit from the new frames and hot strings. Even tough i never liked him, maybe Lendl.

I"m not saying it's ducking Rafa. But it's in the ballpark. He's recognizing that he isn't going to win the events and he's not playing them as a result.

I'm sorry, but that's a bitch move. It just is.

I agree 100%. Hell he's only 37.

Funny you make that point. I was just thinking, somebody needs to try a sharp angle thing that doesn't necessarily bring him into net, but at least a little bit forward in the court. I'm not sure who has that game. Mabye someone like a Simon or Tomic. Nole at his peak figured out the angle game to some extent on Rafa, but it's tough to do when balls are kicking up over your head.

I always thought that cut, angle, low bouncing forehands and backhands hitting behind Rafa could be effective.

Not to fall in love with it but just to get Rafa out of rhythm and get him somewhat out of position (if that's possible).

You guys are good for balancing out the Fedtards.

I think Rafa will semi-tank a match in Rome or Madrid.

Ok. I'm new to this thread and feel like getting abused.

So here goes. I can't figure out how Rafa had bad knees to where he couldn't hardly play at 27-28-29-ish, and now at 31 he springs around the court like a colt.

Djokovic loses early once again

he literally has no offensive weapons to scare opponents, his serve is slow and his groundstrokes have zero pace..

Google "tendinitis" [fn1]. Perform research. Report back with findings.

[fn1] am I allowed to disagree with the spelling of a word? The quoted ailment is spelled by the book now, but not as it should be.

I didn't realize Captain Obvious was working for ESPN. I figured all his time was taken up doing those hotels dot com commercials.

Lotsa tennis matches are fixed

Generation of pace with his groundstrokes has never really been his thing, though. More like accurate redirection of the same. Especially with the backhand down the line. And his return of serve. And his gumby-ness, which facilitates the afore-unprecedented practice of sliding *into* shots on hard courts as a general matter of course.

I didn't see any of his match today, but the results surprise me, as I thought he was close to being back to normal after the Thiem match.

Tsitsipas is the next big thing. I got mad love for Shapovalov, but Tsitsy might just be an even surer thing.

Thanks for all the info. I’m thinking about getting a stringer myself. There should be enough YouTube vids to get me started on what to do.

I have one of these, $174. Stringing your own racquets is very satisfying. Takes like 2 minutes to learn how. Machine comes with complete instructions and stringing patterns for almost every racquet ever made.

Coco beat Sloane 6-1, 6-0. What an embarrassing score.

Seems like either the investigation is still going on, or it was swept under the rug. My money is on him being innocent, but swept under the rug wouldn’t surprise me at all.

Coria had a nice little run going there back in the day. Stayed under the radar.

Nadal is insane. A glitch in the matrix.

One one hand, breing -5500 in the third round of a 500 level event is comical. On the other hand, it’d against a Spaniard with a one-handed backhand. ,surprised they posted odd at all

That dwarf annoyed me back in the day, but I feel bad now at how he melted in the RG final and was never the same.

Good for that RCB guy who got eight games off of Rafa yesterday. That might be better than anyone does all spring.
