Had the volume down. Better than Joker?

His body and build reminds me of Stan too.
He really hits the ball fricking hard.

Yeah it’s unique. Can’t recall anyone hitting that flat with that much consistency. And he has the stamina to do it all day.

I'd be interested to see if he can get to a god-mode level like Stan can.
Just crushing the ball on the lines all match. Even the best players in the world just have to eat shite and take their medicine.
That's why I think he probably has a better chance to beat Federer than Berdych does.

I see what you mean now. If both played at their absolute best vs. Fed, you believe Chung would have a better shot. As of now, I would disagree. I’ve seen Berdych play at a level that would blow anyone off the court, but it’s usually against guys who aren’t in the top 5 or 10. It hasn’t happened against Roger for whatever reason (probably mental), and I can’t imagine it will tonight.

Got a nice 3.5-hour nap in... hoping for some decent tennis.
Berdych breaks in Roger’s first service game to go up 2-0.

Easiest road for Federer in as long as I can remember, and he starts out the match looking playing pretty damn shitty.
This could be one unprecedented semi-final, with the highest ranked player being 6th, and none of the top dogs.
Sadly it's way past my bed time and I'll have to see the results of this match when I wake up in a couple hours. Unless it's gone 5 sets with multiple tiebreaks

This will be the 1st set he's dropped this Grand Slam right? I believe one of his more recent Grand Slam events he made it very far without dropping a set as well.

It would be, but he just broke back to get to 5-4.
Yeah... Wimbledon 2017 he didn’t drop a set.
Both guys tried their hardest to lose this first set, but Federer rolls in the tiebreaker.
Roger breaks late in the 2nd to go up 2-0.

Federer looks in control now, that was a great comeback to win the set.

Well that was a total asskicking. Impressive Fed.
Great interview with Fed afterwards, last thing he did before bed last night was text Rafa.

Chung opens at +350, which means he'll be about even odds to take a set.

Sandgren's statement to open his post match presser:
quote:
After Wednesday's loss, he opened his post-match press conference by reading the following statement.
“You seek to put people in these little boxes so that you can order the world in your already assumed preconceived ideas. You strip away any individuality for the sake of demonizing by way of the collective.
“With a handful of follows and some likes on Twitter, my fate has been sealed in your minds. To write an edgy story, to create sensationalist coverage, there are a few lengths you wouldn't go to mark me as the man you desperately want me to be.
“You would rather perpetuate propaganda machines instead of researching information from a host of angles and perspectives while being willing to learn, change, and grow. You dehumanize with pen and paper and turn neighbor against neighbor. In so doing, you may actually find you're hastening the hell you wish to avoid, the hell we all wish to avoid.
“It is my firm belief that the highest value must be placed on the virtue of each individual, regardless of gender, race, religion or sexual orientation. It's my job to continue on this journey with the goal of becoming the best me I can and to embody the love Christ has for me, for I answer to Him and Him alone.

That's pretty good, and then when you take it in the religious direction at the end and say you are going to do better, nobody can really say anything. I'm with cracka, though, he shouldn't have had to do that shite and I hope it didn't affect his performance.
Posted on 1/24/18 at 11:52 am to Bunk Moreland
It absolutely effected his performance, and will likely negatively effect this rest of his life a little
I honestly find nothing more disgusting at this point in my life than the far left and their media witchhunts

Literally no American mens tennis players are fun to watch, he fits right in with the rest of the tall, awkward sprayers of the ball. Ready to break down at a moments notice. Keys is right up there with them.

I like erratic big hitters better than mindless backboards. I didn't mind Chung yesterday, but a few guys in here were bored by him.
I have little desire to watch certain matchups like any combo of Djoker/Murray/Nadal. I saw a few games of Djoker/Monfils and turned it off because every point seemed like an excruciating rally. Kyrgios and Dimitrov are mentally soft, but they played some high-quality entertaining tennis the other day.

Anyone feel that Chung can pull off the upset? I feel that Fed is going to have a hard time putting him away in a few shots and that each rally will be extended. Will see how Fed can hold up. I know he is in amazing shape, but he tries to shorten points for a reason.
