Good luck with Mike Hawkins. He’s friends with a few of my kids friends. Watched him for 3 years at Allen
Dude and his dad are crazy. Dad got kicked out of 3 games last year but making threats to the coaches and then filed a very questionable racism claim to get out of having to sit out for transferring to a school 3 miles away. Daddy also played at OU and quit the team and took his ball home.
I don’t see Hawkins ever playing at OU. He’s good but not SEC good. Emerson’s conference is one of the weakest around.
You’ll see what I mean but he and his dad aren’t the type to sit for 2 years. Booty also played at Allen and that dude should be at a FCS. If he’s your starter you have big problems.

Love how you changed the subject after saying all fans hated Dillon. Now you are saying Hawkins is a bust before he even gets on campus. Try harder. Or hate harder lol.
Dillon is not an NFL type QB. He is a brilliant college QB though, and will break all kinds of records next year by staying in college. He is admired by the majority of OU fans by coming here and balling out. We had 0 QBs on scholly after LiaR left. DG saved us from a bad situation. He is and will be respected by OU fans.

Tulane is going to be a 6-6 team next year. They are screwed

I have to say - I can't imagine why anyone would want to be a college coach in this climate. The only thing Dan Mullen ever said that made sense was his concern for how CFB would change with NIL / Portal etc.

It's madness but contracts and buyouts are crazy too, so they can't really complain

I’m really surprised by the Julian Fleming news. He’d be perfect to lead a young but crazy talented WR room next year. And he’s a hell of a run blocker.

We likely told him it's time to move on.

"When you watched us play, what did you see?" Sanders told Carl Reed. "'Oh, if they just had some protection for [quarterback] Shedeur [Sanders]. Oh, if they could just get after that pass.' We are going to address that. We are going to address that from the transfer portal and the high school ranks. High school to me is like draft choices in the NFL. The portal is free agency. We are in free agency right now, and I am thankful we have and will have the wherewithal to get what we need.
"Right now, it's all about protecting the quarterback, running the football and stopping the run," Sanders continued. "We're going to be very active in the portal with linemen, linebackers, and a few corners. ... That's what I want. And we're going to put it together."
As for recruiting high school players, Sanders plans to take a methodical approach with an emphasis on early enrollment.
"We're going out and looking for these high school guys at certain positions where they can come in and have an impact," Sanders said. "And it's up to them, but I would recommend to these high school guys if they are going to make this transition ... they have to get in during the spring, man. They have to come in so they can learn the playbooks and culture and expectations ... and be on the path to success."

Colorado might end up in a much worse position somehow post Deion than they were pre Deion with his attitude towards HS recruiting.
I’m sure the talent will be elevated through the portal that should set them up for a bowl season of some sort next year, but betting the house on the transfer portal is not going to get you far in big boy CFB. I assume his hope is to have a good enough season to job hop to coincide with his son going to the NFL, with Colorado left holding the bag when all those transfers go with him
