I post on that board some and of course (like TD) there are irrational idiots. But theres also those of us that see the writing on the wall for the new wac and agree that the Sun Belt would be an improvement over the new wac. Is it a move that Tech fans would be excited or happy about? No. But with the way the WAC is headed, it may be Tech's best option.

Well put, hoohoo.

Tech fans and admins should accept these facts:
- WAC and SBC pretty much equally suck at this point, with SBC being considerably more stable.
- C-USA has never considered Tech, and there is no reason why they should do so at this point.
- Membership in the Sun Belt is beneath no current WAC school.
- Membership in the Sun Belt would not hurt any current WAC school, mostly because there isn't a whole lot to hurt.

Tech was one of the final schools before CUSA decided to take UTEP. Tech still has good relationships w/ UTEP, SMU, Rice, and Tulsa

The difference between the fricktards on TD and those on on BB&B is that the former are mostly college boys, while that board is dominated by middle-aged people. It's more pathetic when the poster is 50 years old.

Nope. It was UTEP and North Texas. Tech wasn't in the discussion. Maybe they were in the discussion in a message board you post on, but C-USA has never considered adding Tech.

Pride, delusion, and a twinge of dick envy are Tech's biggest obstacles right now.

I went to the ragin cajun message board to see what they were saying about this and MOTHERfrickER that place is whacked out.

Click on this link and read the thread (close to the top) that is titled "What if a Sun Belt School". The craziness starts a few posts down when they actually think that their athletics program budget will be as big as BCS schools in the very near future.

There is also a thread titled "Hud, a money making machine" lwer on the first page about an older couple who visited the athletic facilities recently and were so impressed they dropped a 150k check off on the way out. The circle jerk thread goes on for like 5 pages until somebody from the athletic dept posts that the story is not true. Of course there is a rant in that thread about TigerDroppings.

They sure do like talking about facilities and budget. They sound like Tech fans.

ULL's record vs. ULM in 1A/FBS: 6-8

If your athletic budget and facilities are anything about which to brag, shouldn't you be able to take care of an opponent with the lowest budget in FBS? What's the goal here--dollars spent or games won?

Tech in the WAC makes no sense anyway. Their travel budget has to be insane!

ULM was 5-6, a chance for a sure-fire bowl bid on the line in the last game against the Ragin Cajuns, they barely filled up half the stadium.

Announced attendance was 9,215.

That's not true. Tech was very likely the 2nd choice behind UTEP. CUSA officials visited the Tech campus and the UTEP campus as indicated in this article:

LINK

"The past two months included visits by Banowsky to several new members' campuses, including UCF, and visits by C-USA representatives to Louisiana Tech and UTEP. During that time, Toledo and Miami (of Ohio) re-affirmed their commitment to the Mid-American Conference, though Orsini said no candidate has rejected C-USA's overtures.

Have you been to a game in the past 5 years? Our attendance has actually been growing. Its still nothing to brag about, but we average over 20,000. Like I said, I'm not bragging, but don't say it looks like THAT.

And that game was ULM vs. ULL. Our games are against west coast teams.

A couple of years ago, Latech played Fresno State on ESPN and the crowd looked exactly like that. Even the announcers were making jokes. Plus there were the hokey fraternity pep banners placed on the green areas of the endzones. Looked Div. II all the way.

Perhaps Latech should be playing UL(M) and ULL instead of Utah State or whatever.

Nope. 2010 average home attendance:

Louisiana-Lafayette 17,383
Louisiana-Monroe 20,934
Louisiana Tech 19,485

If you can't outdraw ULM--no matter where one of ULM's "home" games is--your entire fan base needs to stfu about attendance, facilities, and going in the right direction.

It's just lil' ol' ULM--any program that doesn't suck total balls should be able to outdraw them, right?

T1, I stand corrected. I apparently misremembered. I do believe that prior to their final decision, they had decided that it would be one of the Texas schools--that's probably why I remembered it that way.

Why don't you give me the avg. home attendance for ulm minus the 'home game' in Little Rock?
