They want the city to pay for a $700 million dollar renovation to the edwards jones dome. I knew it was a piece of crap but damn 700 million. They moving to LA in 2015 IMO.

What do they want to build. The infrastructure of a stadium is there.

How much was it to rehab the superdome?

I didn't think the EJ Dome was that bad. It did remind me of how bad (narrow) the Superdome concourses are.

Just read the link.

It will be a compromise or relocation to LA.

I went to a game a few years ago. I didn't think it was that bad of a stadium. Blows Candlestick out of the water, that's for sure.

700m is like 2/3rds of a new stadium. It wouldn't even change capacity according to that article.

I would think 700 m would easily pay for a new open air stadium

There's no way they proposed that with the intentions of actually following through with it. I honestly think this is just an excuse for them to leave town in the middle of their lease.

It should. Qwest Field (CenturyLink) cost like half that price and it's an awesome stadium.

was up there a week or so ago for a Cardinals game and drove by it. The building itself doesn't look all that bad from the outside. The attached parking area could use some major concrete and landscape work though.

With that escape clause, the city will have to put up some cash money to keep them.

for $700M, just build a new dam stadium

STL is not LA or NY where costs are completely inflated. $700M should build a badass stadium with room to spare
