Personally I think the Cubs could win the 2nd wc....
It will come down to Cubs, Pirates, Reds, Cards, Giants, Padres imo....
Cards are the favorite for NL Central but personally I think the Cubs/Pirates/or Reds could possibly challenge with a few surprises.

Yeah it's strange they keep harping on it, and I've never heard of a pitcher being afraid to throw to a base so I find it hard to believe

That is possible as well, I just don't think wainwright makes it through the season and that Holiday/Molina finally show their age.... If everyone stays healthy the Cards have the talent to run away with the division

Thats very fair, in fact, I think most Cards fans would admit as much to be honest, at least Molina and Wainwright and the health issue being a concern.
