assuming LSU beats florida with JR last year and LSU stayed close to #1, that could take away enough hype from TT to open the door for another player, like DMac

Costas went to Syracuse which is a top broadcast J school and has tons of alum covering sports. Costas, Marv Albert, Mike Tirico, Sean McDonough are all SU grads.

Ohio University, Indiana University, Columbia University, University of Missouri, Michigan State University, Northwestern University, University of Florida, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, University of California, Berkeley, and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign are typically considered among the best in the United States based upon the success of those who attended these institutions.

Ohio University baby... the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism, is in the Scripps College of Communication. The school was named one of the nation's top five programs in a survey conducted by Youngs, Walter & Co., a Chicago-based management consulting firm.

Our most illustrious alum... Matt Lauer. Take it for what it's worth.

Good call on Costas-syracuse. He spent a lot of years in St Louis doing local stuff for the Cardinals and such, before he made it big time. He is an Orangeman thru and thru.

You could honestly come up with a better list just going off the Big X.

Mendenhall? Seriously?

During my time in the late 80's most if not all the resources went to the print side of the Journalism school. Understandable considering it is the "Manship" school of Journalism.

There were a couple of good broadcast professors but were hired away during or soon after my time at LSU. I didn't pursue journalism after graduation but if I had to do it all over again with the intention of a journalism(broadcast) career I would major in English and volunteer at the local radio/TV station.
