He is in a shithole time slot though. How many people are able to listen from 9-12??? Condon has the sweet time slot from 4-6. Even Buddy has the lunch hour crowd.

actually, peej .. that slot is prolly not as bad as you'd think ... the 4-6 slot doesn't have great listenership in the 4:00 hour and the 5:00 hour you have people mainly listening in 15 minute spurts ... more people driving around during their work day from 9-12, not to mention those that listen in the office ... on the surface it doesn't appear to be great .. but not horrible ...

If I were to still listen to the crap they call regular radio I would be more inclined to listen from 9-12 while at work then 4-6 on my 10 minute drive home.

remotes may be tougher to come by with that slot though

actually .. you should do well with restaurants trying to build up to a lunch business ... hell, the 4 to 6 slot is prolly one of the worst remote slots since everyone is basically on their way home from work and aren't likely to stop by a remote spot ...

well most of ott's remotes seem to come from bars and dinner type places.

yeah .. he'll have to reinvent himself a little ... i think he just bides his time until something happens with richard ... being a salaried employee in radio right now isn't good with the economy in the shape it is in ... the car lots are what runs the advertising dollar in this town and they are dry right now ..

I thought Jimmy was very classy today. He seemed to thank Matt Kennedy quite a bit today for getting him back on the air. I have to say that it was nice to hear 3 hours of pure sports from a local perspective. I did almost turn my Ipod on when Gary & Carl The Carl went back 2 back to open the show.

For what it's worth I've heard that most of the 1,500 or so jobs that will be cut are in the sales department.

Peej, Ott will be in the 3-6 slot by May at the latest.

Never underestimate the power of paying for air time. We've all discussed this. The station may feel that having someone pay for 3 hours is better than paying someone for 3 hours. I'd expect that move to be made sometime closer to football season if it happens. It would not shock me at all.

josh .. word on the street is that you guys are losing money hand over fist on condon's show right now ... ad dollars are low and most of the sponsors' $$$ are on other stations in the family and the spots in richard's show are freebies ... his ratings in the last book aren't 25% of what he was getting 10 years ago, but he is being paid more ... economics will catch up with him ...

so much for condon's theory on no one liking sports talk once he gets shite canned......again
well I take that back he occasionally does talk sports "20 years ago today dis happened...."

yeah he covers tom demsey's kick once a month but thats about it.

the other day(or maybe it was yesterday) he starts off with "i was watching syracuse over the weekend." im like oh shite he's gonna talk sports. but then his next line was "everyone of their white guys had tattoo's all the way up their arms. it was a freak show"...blah blah blah change channel.

Speaking of the Score. Why can't I get the listen live online feature to work?
