It doesn’t matter if he was attempting to make a play. If the runner is running in the base path, he’s not obligated to make some crazy maneuver to dodge the fielder going for a poor throw. Jesus use your head

If you think about it, it was the Astros who got screwed.

Our pitchers arm got cold over a farce of a review.

Astros should think about protesting imo

If a member of the team at bat (other than a runner) hinders a fielder's attempt to field a thrown ball, the ball is dead, the runner on whom the play is being made shall be declared out and all runners return to the last legally occupied base at the time of the interference

If the batter-runner is adjudged not to have hindered a fielder attempting to make a play on a batted ball, and if the base runner’s interference is adjudged not to be intentional, the batter-runner shall be awarded first base

Here are the two parts of the rule book I found about impeding the throw. Based off of this, I think the call was wrong because it wasn't intentional. I didn't see anything about running between the lines, but I'm no rules expert

The rule is as follows

A runner who is adjudged to have hindered a fielder who is attempting to make a play on a batted ball is out whether it was intentional or not.

Dude this wasn't A-Rod slapping away the 1st baseman's glove.

Jesus.

Get some perspective on this idiotic argument that apparently some are living and dying with - conjuring up whatever they can to justify the call on the field.

That’s not what happened idiot

The fielder threw his glove into the runner.

Not vice versa.

He was out the basepath until his last stride and there. that still shot doesn't prove anything because it doesn't capture the totality of the play when Yuli was trying to make a play. Like I said I dont like that call but it was technically correct.

Y'all also need to stop calling the Astros a terrible.fan base for agreeing with a call that helps them during the world series. Especially since nobody understands the call.

I thought it was a throw, not a batted ball.

I'm not watching the game.

Are Astros fans melting or not over something that went their way. Because it sure seems like they are.

It's 5-2. Who cares.

The first baseman’s glove was inside the baseline and ended up 3 feet away prior to the runner reaching the bag.

Intent means nothing
