Would I rather have a gold glove 5 tool player on a team that isn't ran by a moron batting him leadoff over a 1 pitch pitcher than can't make it 6 innings?

Lulz.

You do realize you have to complete 6 innings for a quality start right?

quote:

Miller has yet to last longer than six innings in a single start this season, although he has at least five in every start as well (talk about a small window of consistency).  In his career, Miller has gone more than six innings just six times in those 38 starts, good for just 15.7 percent of the time.

Part of the reason Miller does not pitch deep into games is because he throws to many pitches per at bat.

Last season, Miller tied for the most pitches per plate appearance among all starters in baseball.

If you can't go deep in games you're almost useless to a contending team, you can't have a guy going 5 innings in the postseason no matter how good your bullpen is. Braves don't have to worry about that for a few years and can take their time with him, Cards couldn't.

He averaged 6 innings a start per a recent post. And just because you have tools doesn't mean you use them.

No, he didn't. And that's your dumbass managers fault.

The fact that Gonzalez kept his job is a joke.

I think we have seen enough of Heyward to say he is not a 5 tool guy. I would say 3-4.

Fielding and baserunning are elite.

Arm and hitting are solid.

A lot of power is just not there with his shoulder and stance issues.

Still a very, very good player. Some people are hung up on him not having 30 home run power but he is an excellent baseball player who does a lot of things well.

Gonzales' hands were tied with Uggz and BJ shitting all over the clubhouse, people who say he is a bad manager are idiot sheep...and yes that's starting to include more and more Braves fans on this board.
