Stallone is going to take alot of crap over this. He could have paid this guy off for his story and still made millions. If I were this guy, I'd get some big name attorneys. I'm sure they would line up for a chance at a big payday off Stallone.

I agree. The story lines are dead on.

I love Vince McMahon's narrative as if he's describing a non-scripted fight.

I didn't know the fight from Rocky 3 against Thunderlips was inspired by a fight b/w Wepner and Andre the Giant. Awesome!

Stallone is a piece of shite...copied Wepner and still denies it.

Ehhh. I don't know about that. Just because Chuck's fight "inspired" Stallone to write Rocky doesn't mean he owes Wepner anything. He never used Wepner's likeness to promote the fight (not that it would have helped). It takes a lot to make a quality film. I think it's quite a stretch to say Wepner played a huge role in it. He got paid for fighting Ali. That's what he did. It was on display and open to the public. Stallone drew an inspiration from it. You don't hear Ali whining about wanting to be compensated for inspiring Apollo Creed.

Just because Wepner's fallen on hard times and we feel bad for him doesn't mean he's entitled to compensation from Stallone.
