The Players Waiting For Tiger at 18

I said it during the in game thread. I know Zach Johnson, Langer, Bubba are AN champions and were wearing their jackets and were probably there for the presentation. But Fowler and Koepka and Thomas didn’t have to be there. Was cool to see some of the young guys sticking around to congratulate Tiger after the round.

I thought the same thing. All the players out there happy and supporting him was great. That’s been a huge change from old Tiger. He was so closed off and now he’s embraced the other guys, since they’re the only one’s that can even remotely relate to him. He just seems happier out there now.

They are all Ryder Cup teammates of Tiger. Except for Poulter. I couldn’t figure out why he was there.

Those young guys hang out at home with Tiger and play practice rounds together. Tiger’s mom and kids were moved to a private room after the tournament and security wouldn’t allow Fowler and JT in the room. Tiger’s mom told the security guard “they are family”.

It does seem like the myth is being debunked on the public image of Tiger as an a-hole and Phil a nice guy in the sense that the guys on tour really love Tiger and Phil is the phony FIGJAM guy who isn't that well-liked by players (and probably has a bunch of personal skeletons/demons, we just don't know them).

Tiger is/was a huge a-hole. It's been well documented. However it's also been well documented that he is taking a different approach to life after all the shite went down. Maybe he's turned a new leaf.

He’s definitely changed the way he interacts with the crowd. I saw him slap a few hands this weekend with kids and adults teaching out past the ropes. 10 years ago Tiger wouldn’t have even acknowledged them.
