Question from a noob:
How come the crowd wasn't following behind Rory on the fairway of the 18th?

All crowds are confined behind ropes lining the fairways!

So did they change this rule recently? Didn't they used to follow Tiger on the fairway @ the US Open, on Sunday, on the 18th when he was winning and in the last group?

What a great story. I imagine the galleries embraced him. His dad worked his arse off to make sure Rory was able to acheive his dream vs the silver spooners on the tour

What was up with Shane O Mac walking with Rory's dad?

Bob Costas right out of the gate telling Rory, that the conditions were more favorable than US Open usually is, but oh by the way you set 12 records.

Is he a SEC coach or is that protection from the IRA?
I've never seen cops protecting golfers going to turn in their scores.

I sure do like Rory. He's going to be kicking our arse in the Ryder Cup for many years, though.

Happy to see Rory get the win. Have a feeling this wont be his last major.

You can take it to the bank McIlroy will not be number four
You are so right that McIlroy can't possibly win double digit majors because only 3 golfers in the history of golf have done so.
Signed,
Only player in the history of golf to reach -13 (eventually -17) in the US Open
Only player in the history of golf to win the US Open before 21 years and 4 months

Hopefully this is Anthony Kim's wakeup call and he gets his butt in gear. We need him to produce now more then ever.

What part of he only has 1 isn't clear to you?
Come back and talk to me when he has 10.

Amen. I remember how AK owned Sergio in the last Ryder Cup we won. I know he had a hand or wrist injury, but we need him to get his game back. I'm a big AK fan.

The only excuse people have given is that he can't win 10 because almost nobody has ever done it. Someone even posted that way back when "even the other players knew that Tiger was great". Well did you hear all of the comments today. Have you heard the other players talk about Rory this weekend? It started before this weekend. Rory is not a no-name, out of nowhere one-hit wonder.
People just don't win major tournaments lead by 8 strokes for 45 holes, and he did.

I'm glad he won but to most people there will always be an * attached to this Open because of how weak the course was setup. The decision to not use the sub air system to dry out the greens I just don't understand.
I can't wait to see what he does at the British and then the PGA.
