McIlroy is showing exactly the kind of game it takes to win the US Open. Hit fairways and greens, and when you don't get it close enough to make pars easily. The recovery on his last two holes has been textbook.

All a matter of taste. I'd like to see Ben Wright make a come back.

Dumb arse Johnny miller. There is no such thing as the heavy hit. It has been disproven for years.

They'll fall. I thought he was going to birdie #1. He's playing smart Open golf.

Par is his friend, particularly with a 7 shot lead.

Bang, there's Rory's first birdie. He didn't take much time over the putt.

What Johnny was talking about had to do with Robert Garrius swing. He said that he does not have a ton of club head speed but has a heavy hit and that is what makes his ball go so far.

It simply does not exist. If I have a ten pound hammer and swing it a 100 mph and it a ball it will go the same distance as a twenty pound hammer swung at the same speed. There has been many studies to prove that the heavy hit does not exist.

Got you. I didn't hear it so assumed it was one of the wedge shots I used to hit.
