do you know exactly how many players in the history of the game have won double digit majors?

How many had won double digits before Tiger? That didn't stop him from rolling up 14, or 15, whatever his number is at. I have been following Rory for about 2 years now and his game is that good.

As you could have with Tiger, but it doesn't make any of Tiger's major wins less impressive.

Only three golfers have double digit major victories.

You can take it to the bank McIlroy will not be number four.

So maybe he doesn't reach Tiger's win total, but even if he gets within 4 of that (currently) he would reach double digits.

I have been very impressed watching him after his blowup on Sunday at Augusta. He didn't duck it, pass blame, or run from it. He went out and won the very next week, and now back in the US he has played the best golf of the day, by far. Lebron James could learn a thing or two from watching Rory.

His implosions are not anomalies. I see a Sergio Garcia type of career from him.

He's only going to win by coming from way back and getting hot on sunday.

He's got two wins on the european and us tours.

What tiger has accomplished in the game is fricking amazing .. So amazing that he has brian washed most of the public into thinking his feats can be achieved by the next hot shot that comes along.

I was making a JOKE for 19 thinking this way.

There is ZERO way he gets to even 7. Its just too damn hard. IMO the LAST golfer to ever do it was Tiger. He changed the game SOOOOOOOO much that almost ALL golfers are in such good physical shape that DOMINANCE is OVER.

I must correct myself, he didn't win the week after the Masters, he finishied 3rd. But my point is still the same that he shook off that heartbreaking day like a champ.

Why are ya'll so confident that he won't eventually be one of the top 5 golfers of all time? He's only 22 years old and he is already showing that every time he tees it up he is a force to win.

OK. Sergio was supposed to be the NEXT GREAT THING. I rest my case.

The kid's got game. No question. But he's got to win that first major. To be considered one of the top 5 golfers of all time he'd have to win about 7 or 8 more.

He can still be a top 5 all time player and not win double digit majors.

Tiger hasn't brain washed me. I started following the PGA a few years before Tiger blew up. I actually pull against Tiger and used to make the same statement you just made, except I said it about Tiger. I realize how hard it is. But I also realize that McIlroy has serious talent. All of the other current top players in the game have not been on the leaderboard as much as McIlroy has for the last 4 majors, and once again, he's only 22 years old!!

Do you consider Phil Mickelson a top 5 golfer of all time?

Do you think Rory is better than Phil? I say no way.

Sergio has a great career and had a more accomplished career at 22 than mcilroy.

I like the italian kid more than Rory. Mannesero. He's only 18 and has 2 wins on the european tour. He's someone that I think will win 4 to 6 majors.

OK we will keep tiger out of this. We agree what he did is amazing. The two other players who won double digits (Nicklaus and Hagen) won their first majors almost 50 and 100 years ago.

You are trying to sell that Rory is better than every other golfer to play the game over that time span. I aint buying that shite. It may happen but I am betting against it. BIG MONEY AGAINST IT ...
