I understand a lack of interest in a sport, but what I do not get is pointless intolerance. Why do you have voice your distaste for the NBA (or any sport for that matter)? Is it cool?

Even though this wasn't directed at me, I'll give my thoughts.

I actually enjoy watching the sport of basketball. But the NBA is just terrible.

The lack of rule enforcement is one of my biggest pet peeves with the league. The coddling of stars is another.

And then the ref scandal kind of sealed the deal for me.

FWIW, I don't like the MLB for similar basic rule reasons either (the robbing of the the perfect game from that pitcher was the last straw for me).

In my opinion, a league that doesn't protect the integrity of the game is not worth watching.

As for why I voice my distaste....well, because it's a message board where people make their opinions known.

Would you prefer all contrary opinions be stifled?

Silly Supersonic fan being silly.

I'll do feel bad for what happened to you guys though.

Sorta bad. Cuz OKC needed a pro sports team desperately. Thunder have been a Godsend for this city.

It's just the fact that this same thread pops up every day. It's getting old. We get it, people don't like the NBA.

I like how OKC gave the citizen of the year award to a thief.

I am a Suns fan but I will rep the Northwest when necessary. I used to be a die hard but now I don't let myself invest too much in the NBA. My problem is the same teams seem like they are always protected.

The hold out with the NFL affected my interest in the pros quite a bit, surprised me but it did, I have less interest in general in watching a pro game now. I still enjoy and support the Saints but the enthusiasm I had for pro football is gone. I can understand how the NBA events could do the same for round ball fans.

Watch HS and College Basketball closely and the SAME exact thing goes on. Star players get the calls, refs let them travel, teachers or professors let them get away with anything in class(hand them good grades), they're the kings on campus or at HS. No different.

My cousin went to KU back in the 90's and she said basketball players are dumb as hell, teachers just passed them left and right so they could play. That's why I laugh when people complain about NBA stars getting special treatment, shite goes on in HS and college basketball too.
