My biggest problem with it is it seems like no one tries during regular season games until the last 5-10 mins. In the college game, most players go all-out for the full 40 mins.
Regardless of whether this is true or not, this is the popular perception to casual observers. I happen to agree

I mean, you basically can't touch the guy with the ball in that league now.
You realize this is how Naismith intended the game to be, right? A non-contact game.

LeBron is ruining the NBA...
I agree. I still care and watch games when time permits, but I'm not a huge fan of this whole Super Friends notion and where it might be going in the future. I'm afraid within 2 years we'll have 2-4 teams that are relevant and the gap between them and the "have nots" will be enormous.

LeBron is only the straw that broke the camels back....Allen iverson was the beginning. Just look at the Denver team in 08...people can't relate to basketball anymore...now it's the ego maniacal ones...
I have not watched one game since lebron called into the lakers nuggets halftime show to talk about his shot...in only game 1...what a tool.
I will never watch it again...the product is beyond saving.

The image of the NBA has continually gone down hill the past decade or so.
Pacers vs Piston brawl (along with other fights)
Officiating gambling scandal
The NBA's star player(Bron) being a douche
Then you have star players like Kobe, Iverson, etc having their names in the news for bad things
Now I know its not PC to say this, but this is just how it is: Many people see NBA players as arrogant thugs. And while its not true as a whole, the words and actions of a few players as given the entire NBA a negative image.

no, their ratings are better this year than they have had in years

Something like 25 teams I read are losing money now.
They aren't. That's called good accounting. Very very very few NFL/NBA/MLB teams ever even get down to breaking even. They have accountants to make their numbers look like they are losing money to avoid paying taxes. Teams also use it to create some sympathy for their team or to get something from the city that they are in.

I have actually moved from college basketball to watching the NBA the last few years. College basketball is starting to get as gay as college baseball now

As boring as the NBA can be, I'd rather watch walruses mate then watch college basketball. Very few truly gifted players in the game and you can watch a few episodes of your favorite tv show during the last 5 minutes of the games.

The only thing CBB has going for it is the atmosphere really and that's only good at a few programs. Everyone likes to talk about how great it is for these cinderella teams to get a shot but i don't want to see fricking George Mason or Butler in the Final Four.

If everyone's going to keep team up with their buddies for super-teams, the NBA might as well contract to about 8 super-teams that travel around to the various arenas of city's whose teams get contracted as sort of a traveling expedition of multiple all star teams.

That is probably because I feel somewhat cheated that the players are all "buddies" who would rather "gang up" than compete with each other.
Uh, the Spurs will take care of these so called "buddies".

Another reason the NBA has lost some of its appeal is because there are too many teams. Lebron mentioned contraction and he was frowned upon...but truth of the matter is that some of these teams don't have the star power to get you excited to see them...
Great!! Lets put Lebron in charge!!
What is wrong with contraction? 2-4 teams being disbanded would help alot. The NBA's financial woes will be addressed in the next CBA. David Stern and co. will break the player's union. There is lots of young, likeable young talent in the NBA not named Lebron in the NBA right now. I much prefer the NBA game to CBB minus March Madness.

You don't think your declining interest could have anything to do with the obvious decline of Kobe Bryant?
He is playing lass minutes this year. But I don't deny he has lost some of that ability to take over a game with his explosiveness.

Do you have a link on this or are you just using your inside sources or are you speculating or are you just making this up?

True. Hell the NFL have waaaay more problems but for some reason it don't reflect the league or people don't call them arrogant thugs. I have something on my sprint NFL mobil and they have a legal section. Lots of arrests and court cases within the past year. Lets not go back into a 5-10yr span of the NFL's legal problems.

I wish the NBA had more players that showed intensity and slapped the floor with both hands while playing defense. I guess that's what he means by going all-out for the full 40mins.

What? His decline in athletecism is obvious. To deny it is to insult the caliber of player that he once was. Watch a clip of Kobe from 2005 compared to highlight clips from this season. If you don't see a drastic difference then I don't know what to tell you.
