The NBA has "retroactive" fouls? Seriously? I never knew that.

San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama should have been called for a foul after he shoved Jalen Brunson hard in the first quarter of their Game 3 win over the New York Knicks on Monday night.
Monty McCutchen, the NBA's head of officiating, acknowledged that a foul was missed in the moment while speaking on ESPN on Tuesday. While the league reviewed the incident, but opted not to assess a flagrant foul retroactively Tuesday.

How do this apply to the 2018 NFC Championship game?

I think it’s just for techs and flagrant fouls. In the playoffs, a player is automatically suspended one game if they accumulate four flagrant points (a Flagrant 1 is worth 1 point, and a Flagrant 2 is worth 2 points).
Wemby already has 2 fwiw.

Lol joke league
Flagrant
Not flagrant
Once again league protecting Wimpy, why? He is 22 and has not earned the normal respect given over time to players. He’s from France. Yet they are protecting him time and time again. Elbow to neck no suspension. Missed post game, nothing. Flagrant during game, nothing. And there are more.
Why are they coddling him?

They are not throwing Wemby out... He earned the flagrant 2. It would put him out. It should put him out.
That would be some learning and experience he needs.

The playoffs you get a clean slate. But the total decreases to 3. So if they decided to retroactively give wembitch a flagrant he’s effectively suspended tonight. It absolutely should’ve been called a flagrant on the floor. The NBA has been protecting the sperms the entire playoffs.

The special treatment for Wemby and the Spurs is really weird. There's no way to explain it either. Some of the stuff he's done comes with an automatic fine, but he just gets a warning.
Since he doesn't get punished and knows the NBA doesn't want to suspend him, he does whatever he wants. The Spurs have also been given a green light to commit flagrants because they know it will be ruled a common foul, if it even gets called at all.
