Kerr's dad was born in Beiruit and his parents were longtime teachers at that same school. Lebanon was basically home to the guy.

Kerr is a liberal cuck who cries about our orange president at every turn, but can't muster up an easy take on China civil rights atrocities. I still like him, though.
