Their style of play is one of the reasons they've always had a ceiling in the playoffs. Pretty sure Fizdale is trying to change that.

In my opinion, their style of play is what has kept in series against much more talented teams in the past.

I played pf/sf throughout highschool/aau so I love watching a team who's willing to play D and go inside>out on offense.

Their talent is the reason they have a ceiling in the playoffs, just like most other teams. I think they get the most out of what they have.

Take one look at their roster and you'll be shocked at how good they are despite the lack of talent.

lol Grizzlies... perennial 45 win team that loses in the 1st round.

woopdie fricking doo

Maybe I'll interject some facts for you

1. Over the last 7 seasons in which the Grizz have made the playoffs (only 2 other teams have longer active streaks btw), they have averaged 49 wins a season. This doesn't include the shortened 11-12 season (they were on pace for 51 wins that season). it also includes last year where the Grizzlies, quite literally, had everyone on their roster go down with an injury. They started like 35 different guys over the course of the season

2. They've made it past the 1st round in 3 of those 7 seasons, including the WCF a few years ago

3. In that same time span, your Houston Rockets have only made the playoffs 5/7 years

4. Your Houston Rockets have been bounced from the playoffs in the first round in 3/5 of their playoff seasons

5. Your Houston Rockets have also averaged 49 wins over the past 7 seasons (also withholding the the shortened season, which is good for Houston because they went 34-32 and missed the playoffs)

6. whoopdie fricking doo right?

gotcha, well speaking of teams that have recently made a habit of losing in the 1st round 4 straight 1st round exits and extending one series beyond 5 games

^Take that for data

People forget how consistent the Grizzlies have been for years now. Sure, the success in the playoffs has been come and go but we don't have the talent of SA or Golden State. But the fact that a newish team with one of the smallest, poorest, markets in the league with no more than marginally big name players is having this much success is amazing. For those reasons, the city loves this team, which is why any success they have will be celebrated.

I despise the mavs Ghazi is their most notorious online shill, though.

Trust me, he was far more annoying back when Dallas was actually good.

This thread is a little interesting to me because the Hawks get shite on by literally everyone and they have made the playoffs 10 times in a row and advanced 5 of those times (maybe 6... ).

Inb4 they play in the east so no one cares.

Grizzlies fans should be proud. It's better to have a lack of talent and get the most out of it than to have the talent in place but they underachieve.

No one is toppling GS for at least a few more years. Might as well just bide your time by drafting well, remain flexible with the salary cap by avoiding bad contracts and when the time's right go get a star that can put you over the top.

Don't worry. The Rockets will be able to celebrate with them real soon.
