You think a trainer is going to do a timed work at 1 1/4?

6 is rare these days, 7 is almost unheard of. They are also not generally going full out race speed and are much more controlled maintenance drills…

How much time have you spent around racehorses?

Grew up in a golf and horse racing family and its the Masters easily. The derby has turned into a trashy media spectacle

The downside of the masters will always be its limited field to me

Just occasionally, I'm more of a fan than an expert.

Fify

I was up there at thanksgiving and they are turning that place into a circus. You can barely even see the old grandstand and they are ripping out the paddock area so they can sell seats. They only care about racing 3 days a year

If they could get a lot of loser celebrities to not show up, it would be a victory.

Watching them on tv is not spending time around them

I've been to Keeneland and Churchill when I'm in KY. I'm not frequently around horses. Does if matter chief?

I'm also aware they don't run 10 before the Derby so I should have said something different. Whatever.

Those 2 10 sub 2 posts were so bad they deserved being called out.

I kinda like being called chief. Wonder if I can make that a thing…

The world is a much better place for you having done so. I'm aware the road to the derby builds up in distance, just forgot for a minute. Go jerk off a horse or something.

Nah, you just wanted to sound like an expert

Which you clearly aren’t.

It’s fine.

I prefer my horses gelded. Most things, actually.

so listening to expert analysis from people at the highest level discussing the sport is not the same as shoveling shite into a bucket?

About gelding?

I can talk all day about that

I prefer to be called chief.

Though a quick google would lead you to an answer, I think I’ll also go with your Aspergers suggestion.

Winston, I’d prefer my experts not to cheat in handicapping contests and to attempt to be sober on tv :

I don't want to be the guy that fights with someone with Asperger's on here, so back to the original topic.

You should probably be the guy who doesn’t talk about racing like he's an expert, though. I’m not in here talking golf because I don’t have the slightest clue about it.

In all my years I’ve never heard anyone use the phrase 10 sub 2, let alone more than once.

They say sub 2:00 whenever a horse comes close to it. I realize I've stepped into your 'zone of expertise', so let's just leave it at that.
