Pretty awesome how this weekend is the first round of the 3 round college football playoff.

Auburn/Georgia - winner advances
Clemson/Miami - winner advances
Wisconsin/Ohio State - winner advances

idk if Ohio State wins if they get in. I think Bama, winner of Georgia/Auburn, OU and Clemson get in if they win.

Just like 2011. The more things change the more they stay the same.

That’s what I don’t get about people whining about wanting an 8 team playoff. The latter half of November is basically the playoffs. Expand it to 8 teams and all of these games mean nothing really

I would love to be in the room to hear the committee when they debate Alabama or Ohio State for the 4th spot. The two most get whatever they want bullshite media golden goose programs in the country. The committee members might come to blows debating them.

They'd probably just send them both and drop Oklahoma because the Big 12 has a fake 10 team conference

Kirby Hocutt seems to think Ohio State is in if they beat Wisconsin.

by default all of the other teams will fall below those two.. fighting to see who will be #4 and who is #5..

By virtue of teams ahead of them losing.. the rankings really looks like:
1-3) ACC winner, SEC winner, Oklahoma
4) Alabama (Did not play)
5) Ohio St (Beat #4 and is Big10 champ)

Does anyone really think Ohio St. won't move up a single spot in the rankings by beating a top 5 team and winning the Big10 championship?

What i've found entertaining is they're talking about Wisky losing to OSU as if it's a forgone conclusion.

Oh...

quote:

College Football Playoff committee chairman Kirby Hocutt said there is "very little separation" in the committee's eyes between No. 5 Alabama, No. 6 Georgia, No. 7 Miami and No. 8 Ohio State.

quote:

Hocutt made it clear that CFP committee has flexibility to weigh resumes, but said a conference championship is "very important" when deciding among comparable teams.

OK.

If Auburn can get in over Alabama I don’t see why Ohio St wouldn’t.

If Ohio St wins they would have a win over ranked teams 9 PSU, 4 Wisconsin, and 16 Michigan St. (Conference Champion)

Auburn would have wins over 5 Alabama, 6 UGA (twice), and 23 Miss St. (Conference Champion)

Alabama would have wins over 17 LSU and 23 Miss St. (Division Runner-Up)

Additionally, if UGA loses to Auburn they still would have wins over 15 ND and 23 Miss St. (Division Winner)

Absolutely. Penn State isn't even in the discussion without that win.

And which has the worst loss?

Thanks, I'll hang up and listen.

Do people really still think this is important in 2017?
