So i guess you’ll be posting a link that supports your “he was cut for being arrested” theory?

Your theory is that he intentionall tanked to be cut by the Steelers so he could sign with the patriots

That included being suspended by the Steelers for the arrest, which was certainly part of the reason for the release, along with the on the field action he had as an inactive player which was the final straw which I believe also resulted in a fine

So he took money out of his own pocket so he could take less money to be a patriot? cmon bro.

quote:

"I messed up my shoulder so, I’m in a lot of pain right now," said Bennett. Chicago reporters didn't know what to make of Bennett's claim because he's a very outspoken guy with some tendency to exaggerate, and he didn't miss any meaningful snaps. Bennett "messed up" the shoulder on a circus catch in the second quarter. He finished with seven grabs for 76 yards and two touchdowns.
quote:

Martellus Bennett (shoulder) was limited in Bears practice Wednesday.

Bennett told reporters he "messed up" his shoulder in Sunday's win over the Vikings, but he was being a bit dramatic. He's a TE1 this week versus Pittsburgh.
I don't understand these quotes and the parts you bolded, can you explain?

Why is it surprising for a guy in the NFL to be injured in a game and not miss meaningful snaps. That happens multiple times with multiple players on every single team every single week.

Same with being limited in practice but still a TE1, that seems totally normal, what am I missing there?

Your entire premise of him tanking to be on the Patriots hinging on that hypothesis that I just stated. You can't argue one without the other.

His signing bonus was 950k his fine was 5,500. Your theory holds no water.

He signed a 2 year 3.85 million dollar free agent deal with Pittsburgh the offseason before that and then signed with the Pats for a vets minimum, which is less money than he would've gotten to stay on the Steelers.

He then signed a deal with the Pats for 2 mil per year which is more than 3.8 for 2 years, which is what he signed with the Steelers for, including a 100,000 signing bonus and 100,000 roster bonus. Try again.

I was saying that Martellus Bennett has exaggerated before. Talking about how he messed his shoulder up and giving the impression that he's hurt while he didn't really miss any snaps in the game and wasn't on the injury report just a few days later.

That might give someone the impression that he's not necessarily upfront with his injuries or likes to exaggerate.

And the rest was to show that no matter how much he produces, he seems to wear out his welcome. Even when he has over 900 yards receiving and is signed at a relatively low salary.

What does his contract in April of 2016 have to do with him getting cut by the Steelers and signing with the Patriots during the 2014 season?

Just to show some history.
