Outside of the draft pick, really no risk high reward move here with the 1 year deal. (Although I guess the risk is losing the pick)

I heard Erwin Santana can pitch well in Atlanta's park. I hope so.

Should trade for Price, not we have anything to offer

Good deal for ATL signing Santana. Go Bravos.

This really needed to be done at this point. I applaud Wren for making it happen.

So obviously I know who Santana is, but I haven't watched him pitch in years. I know he's pretty highly regarded, but what kind of stuff does he have? He's had a good ERA 2/3 years, but where would he fit into the rotation?

I agree though, it doesn't sound good for Medlen.

Think they're pretty confident Medlen is done or they wouldn't have signed Santana.

Forearm strain is always a bad sign... especially for someone who already had TJ done once.

It was a necessary move but the rotation still looks shaky.

He's an okay pitcher. He's not worth a 1st round pick and 14 million dollars. And we're in this situation because we refused to acknowledge our need to average solid pitching depth.

Yeah, but we'll get a first round pick back as long as we make a qualifying offer after this season. I think it was needed. I like the signing. He isn't an ace or anything, but he is pretty good.
