People aren't paying close attention to that interview. I guarantee you that Jason and his representatives went into that meeting and demanded outrageous numbers to keep him. Jason is making sure he leaves that part out when saying the Braves haven't contacted him. They knew after that discussion, he needed to be somewhere else.

But hey, we sure will pay for a real hitter like Chris Johnson!!!!!!!!!!1!

This. If you don't think the Braves at least offered Heyward the Freeman deal, you are insane. The offered Frenchy and Mac the same deal. They went to offer the him the deal and Excel laughed them off the phone.
This was a very good offer. We got good value. Miller had a great second half. Jenkins is a great prospect who had an amazing AFL. Hopefully it is a sign of things to come. I am extremely comfortable with this deal.

Bingo. Finally someone not blinded by their love for a player.

I feel like you're now the Hollywood Hogan version of Hulk Hogan.

Played for The Great Bobby Cox, said farewell to a first ballot Hall Of Famer Chipper Jones after an unbelievable career. I made many great friends and became as close as family with most. Thank you for that. Thank you for applauding my effort and passion for the game of baseball. Thank you for acknowledging my love for rockin The "A" on my work hat. Been a pleasure to have called HOME my workplace. As we part ways know that the memories will be carried with me for the rest. Reaching out to say that I won't forget where I'm from and you'll always see me playing the game I love with passion and heart. Knowing and appreciating the fact I had the pleasure of creating heartfelt memories with so many people the past 5 years. Thank you again for your heart, thank you for the motivation and excitement. THANK YOU for the LOVE 22

My only real quibble with the deal is that if we are going full rebuild Miller really doesn't fit all that great since he's used two years of service time already, and will be pretty expensive by the time 2017 comes around if he takes the next step. But it's still a solid deal for one year of Heyward, even though I'm not Miller's biggest fan. Like what I've read about Jenkins a good bit though, hopefully he can stay healthy.
Now hopefully we can trade Justin for a bat, maybe we could peel DJ Peterson away from the Mariners and then throw some money at one of the big Cuban signings.

That's most Braves' fans issues with this.
If you're gonna rebuild, get prospects and draft picks. Not average starting pitching in return.

The #Braves are definitely not done moving some of their guys. J-Up and Gattis might both be traded at some point this winter.
Welp...

Braves meeting with Jon Lester this week...

So are we rebuilding or spending more money? I'm not sure Hart knows. If Lester were to give us a big discount, this would be awesome. I don't expect that to happen though.

If at the very least BJ Upton is still on this team come the start of the regular season I am going to go ahead and plan some family events to do during baseball season.

Would be an extremely expensive mentor but Lester could be great for the development of Teheran, Wood, Miller and Minor. Not to mention he would still be solid when 2017 rolls around.

If the Braves get Lester, we would have so many left handed pitchers
