Braves now have 8 players under contract for next season at a price of $52.4M.

Jack Wilson - .243, 0 HR, 11 RBI, .274 OBP
Jeff Keppinger - .277, 6 HR, 35 RBI, .300 OBP
Why did we sign Wilson again when this guy is out there? Is this part of Fredi's master plan of OBP not mattering? Wait, he doesn't know what that is does he?

Hopefully Pastornicky can be respectable and we won't need him much this year.

Jason Heyward's Little Brother is at Alex Box right now.

Because they want a good defensive SS to back up Pastornicky.

Alright, give me a grade on the Braves offseason so far everyone. Grade on hopes of this year?

C- Didn't upgrade the offense by acquiring a right handed power bat and got a washed up backup that doesn't bring more to the table than being a late inning defensive replacement. Did lose Lowe and got some salary relief but with everyone in the east getting better and us basically standing pat it's not enough...

C. Although, I'm watching the rangers closely in this darvish, prince situation. Could turn into a good trade partner if things fall into place

My buddy seems to think with them pushing hard for Prince that they'd be inclined to trade Cruz. I'm not sure of the likelihood.

Doubtful. He's still arbitration eligible and cheap for the type of player he is.
It might be tough for them to re-sign Hamilton at the end of the year though.

That's what I told him. Why would they trade Cruz? That offense would be pretty nasty (already is) with Prince. Granted, we do match-up well especially if talks with Darvish break down. I just don't see it happening. I am pretty sure we're done this offseason besides making a few minor league signings with spring training invites.

Seth Smith dealt to the A's. So we can scratch him off the potential trade options list.
