Well here's me being negative again: Based one what we just offered (and were somehow TURNED DOWN) by the O's, I'm not at all confident we'll get something good for JJ.

And let's hope that lawsuit with Pixar is finalized by next off season.

I find that trade very hard to believe.

Then we'll keep him and try again and the trade deadline.

Like someone else said, I'm hoping that we asked for one of their top pitching prospects in addition to Jones and it didn't get reported.

If he can somehow post a first half anywhere even close to what he did last year, I hope to the high heavens we successfully sell high this time around...

I think we would. Especially that it's so public that he's available in the trade right now. Plus we know we can't keep our guys in the minors hardly any longer.

ETA: When I say good return for JJ, I in no way think we get a Mat Latos return or anything even close. Just an impact bat that can help us in the years to come.

It really depends on the team. I'm not really sure what teams out there are looking for a #2 starter, other than the Blue Jays.

Cmon Daniel, let's be realistic. You know Kemp just signed that big extension. All the others make a whole lotta sense though.

I wanted to put JJ for 2004 Barry Bonds, but thought that might be asking a little too much.

Now if we threw in Prado...

Y'all seriously going to make a big splash or do Wren/Fredi think the squad is good enough to compete as is and just needs a few minor tweeks?

I hear the Nats are going after Gio Gonzalez. They still have 3 roster spots to fill, even after signing 3B Carlos Rivero. I'm convinced they will be a contender this season.

The Braves expressed interest in Adam Jones. But they did not offer Martin Prado and Jair Jurrjens to the Orioles in exchange for the outfielder.

A source with knowledge of the Orioles negotiations disputed a Baltimore Sun report that indicated the Braves were rejected when they offered Prado, Jurrjens and a pitching prospect for Jones.

The source said the Braves were told Jones was unavailable when they asked about him a couple weeks ago. The Orioles later called the Braves to see if they would trade Prado, Jurrjens and two other “premium guys” in exchange for Jones.

The Braves said they were not interested and the two clubs have not had any recent discussions about these players.

Wren: What can you tell me about Adam Jones' availability?
Duquette: Not available, end of discussion.
Wren: Okay, thanks.

(One Week later)
Duquette: How about Adam Jones for Prado and Jurrjens?
Wren: Sorry, we're not interested.
Duquette: How about you throw in Teheran and Vizcaino too. We have a deal then, right? Prado, Jurrjens, Teheran, and Vizcaino for Adam Jones (HE IS THE FACE OF OUR FRANCHIZE!1!1!)
Wren: LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.

Makes sense now. There was no chance in hell we offered up JJ, Prado, and a prospect

It's hilarious when anything Orioles related gets brought up on the morning radio show Leo Mazzone is on.
